Volunteer & Administrative Services Coordinator

Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday

We’re hiring! Honolulu Habitat for Humanity is looking for caring professionals who are passionate about our mission of providing affordable housing on Oʻahu.

The Volunteer & Administrative Services Coordinator provides administrative support for the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity office-based staff as well as build-site support for the construction team and volunteers.

Office duties Tuesday-Thursday include volunteer recruitment, scheduling, coordination and support, and general administrative duties to support affiliate communications, fundraising efforts, and homeowner services. Weekly build-site duties on Fridays and Saturdays include setting up and breaking down tents, materials and equipment, managing the provision of volunteer tools and PP&E, conducting volunteer orientation and training, and providing overall support for the construction team to ensure safe and efficient build-site operations. As a key point of contact with volunteers, the coordinator should also have a passion for motivating, inspiring and recognizing volunteers who are willing to donate their time to support the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity mission. Office administrative responsibilities include generating purchase orders, allocating and documenting expenses among various projects for tracking purposes, and performing other assigned office administrative duties.

The position reports directly to the Executive Director of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination or administrative support is helpful but not required
  • Comfortable speaking in public and leading volunteer orientations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse groups enthusiastically
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable and adaptable
  • Able to work with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) online tools
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required

Build Day Physical Requirements*

  • Stand or walk, often on uneven surfaces
  • May need to climb ladders and scaffolding and use stairs and ramps
  • Bend, lift, push and pull materials and tools to move them into and out of vehicles
  • Periodically lift and move loads of up to 50 pounds (*with assistance as needed)

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
