Warehouse Assistant Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations and ensure efficient supply chain management. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of warehouse systems, logistics, and process improvement methodologies. Duties

• Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
• Oversee procurement processes and manage relationships with 3PL providers, freight carriers, and vendors.
• Implement process improvements utilizing Lean principles and supply chain analytics to optimize warehouse efficiency.
• Manage transportation systems, fleet management, and dispatching to ensure timely delivery and pickup schedules.
• Utilize ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AS400 platforms for inventory control, demand planning, and operations management.
• Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards for forklift operation, materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
• Develop budgets, monitor P&L statements, and perform cost analysis related to warehouse operations.
• Coordinate production planning and materials management to support manufacturing or distribution needs.
• Supervise warehouse staff including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes ensuring accuracy in freight handling and order fulfillment.
• Manage logistics activities related to supply chain management including transportation planning and procurement strategies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse supervision or operations management within a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (including AS400), and supply chain analytics tools.
• Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Continuous Improvement frameworks.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), freight coordination, dispatching, and fleet management.
• Familiarity with demand planning, production planning, procurement, purchasing, and materials management.
• Ability to lead teams effectively with supervising experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using forklift equipment and understanding warehouse safety standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills related to supply chain optimization and cost control. This position is integral to maintaining seamless warehouse operations while driving efficiency through innovative practices and strategic oversight. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership in supply chain processes with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall operational performance.
