A B2B Sales Executive for a trucking or logistics company is responsible for generating new business, managing client relationships, and meeting sales targets by selling transportation services to other businesses. Key duties involve prospecting leads, negotiating rates, and ensuring seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and reach out to potential clients, including owner-operators, small fleets, and shippers, through cold calling, emailing, and networking.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both existing and prospective clients to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Sales and Negotiation: Present and promote the company's transportation or dispatch services, negotiate competitive rates and contracts, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Logistics Solutions: Understand a client's specific shipping needs and provide tailored logistics solutions that meet those requirements.
- Market Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Administration: Utilize and manage a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track leads, client information, and sales activities, providing regular reports to management.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal teams, such as dispatchers and operations, to ensure smooth service delivery and resolve any client issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Typically 1–3 years of experience in B2B sales, with experience in the logistics, transportation, or freight brokerage industry highly preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential, especially when dealing with international (e.g., US) clients.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure profitable deals and contracts.
- Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the trucking industry, including challenges faced by fleet owners and relevant regulations, is a strong advantage.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, goal-oriented, persuasive, and able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
