Business Development/Sales Officer

Business Development/Sales Officer

Core Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Proactively identify and acquire new business opportunities for import/export freight services (air, sea, road) through cold calling, networking, and lead generation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with commercial and corporate importers to ensure customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Quotation & Proposal Management: Quote to customersoften collaborating with pricing teams.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate pricing with both clients and carriers (shipping lines/airlines/Agents) to maximize profitability while meeting customer needs.
  • Operations Coordination: Work closely with internal operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless shipment handling and resolution of transit issues.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to adjust sales strategies and identify growth opportunities.
  • Sales Reporting: Maintain accurate records in systems and report on performance metrics (KPIs) against monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Recovery: Ensure timely recovery of payments from customers strictly following credit terms.
  • Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:

o Entry-level: 1–3 years of sales experience in the freight forwarding industry.

o Managerial: 5+ years of experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and import/export documentation.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills; self-motivated and target-oriented.

  • Salary: (varying by region and experience).
  • Incentives: Performance-based commissions

Pay: From Rs50,000.00 per month
