Director - Oil and Gas

Job Summary

The Director - Oil and Gas provides strategic leadership for all upstream, midstream, and downstream operations in Oman's oil and gas sector. This senior executive role drives business growth, ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and innovation amid energy transition trends like CCUS and hydrogen. With Oman's focus on PDO and national energy goals, the Director will optimize production, manage risks, and foster partnerships to achieve revenue targets and sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and execute divisional strategies, business plans, and P&L management to meet revenue, profitability, and market expansion goals in Oman's oil/gas market.

• Business Development: Identify opportunities, build C-suite relationships with PDO, regulators, and stakeholders; lead proposals, pitches, and negotiations for high-impact projects.

• Operations & Project Oversight: Oversee project execution, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and performance metrics for pipelines, facilities, drilling, and energy transition initiatives; ensure safety and efficiency.

• Team Leadership: Mentor high-performing teams, promote innovation, and drive compliance with Omani regulations, HSE standards, and industry best practices.

• Technical & Innovation Guidance: Provide expertise on engineering challenges, emerging technologies (e.g., CO2, RNG, green hydrogen), and process optimizations.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate cross-functionally, monitor industry trends, and report to executives on KPIs, incidents, and strategic insights.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.

• 15-20+ years in oil/gas, with 10+ in senior leadership (e.g., PDO or multinationals).

• Proven track record in Oman's energy sector, business development, and P&L accountability.

• Expertise in upstream/midstream/downstream, HSE, and energy transition.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.

Pay: RO12.000 - RO24.000 per hour
