QS Engineer

Maklad Design is hiring an experienced QS Engineer with strong UAE interior fit-out experience. This role is heavily focused on BOQs, quotations, pricing, tendering, subcontractor management, contracts, and budget control across multiple projects. We are looking for a commercially strong professional who understands real UAE market rates and fit-out costing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed BOQs for interior fit-out works including joinery, finishes, MEP, and civil items
• Prepare project quotations, pricing breakdowns, and cost comparisons
• Manage cost planning, budget tracking, and cost control throughout project execution
• Handle tendering processes, subcontractor comparisons, and commercial evaluations
• Prepare and update price lists, rate analysis, and cost databases
• Manage subcontractor packages including scope review, pricing, negotiation, and award recommendations
• Administer subcontractor contracts, payment certifications, and compliance documentation
• Monitor subcontractor performance against budget and contract terms
• Manage variations, claims, and commercial correspondence with subcontractors and clients
• Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and profitability analysis
• Monitor procurement costs and coordinate with procurement and project teams
• Review and certify subcontractor payments
• Support final accounts, subcontractor closing, and project close-out

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience
• Mandatory UAE experience in interior fit-out projects (applications without UAE experience will not be considered)
• Proven experience in BOQ preparation and fit-out project costing
• Strong knowledge of tendering, subcontractor management, and contract administration
• Familiar with UAE market rates, suppliers, and subcontractor pricing
• Experience handling variations, claims, and commercial documentation
• Strong understanding of contracts and cost control procedures

Technical Skills

• Strong BOQ preparation and measurement skills
• Experience in pricing fit-out works including joinery, finishes, and MEP
• Proficiency in Excel (advanced), PlanSwift or measurement tools, and AutoCAD
• Strong numerical accuracy and commercial awareness

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented and cost-focused mindset
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong coordination and communication skills
• Proactive and results-driven
