Responsibilities: <ul><li>Assist tile setters at job sites.</li><li>Load and unload materials at job site.</li><li>Apply appropriate protective materials to reduce damage, dust, and debris.</li><li>Clean and prepare installation surfaces, equipment, tools, work sites, and storage areas.</li><li>Cut materials to specified sizes for installation, using power saws or tile cutters.</li><li>Mix mortar, plaster, and grout, manually or using machines, according to standard formulas.</li><li>Provide assistance in preparation, installation, finish, or repair of tile or stone surfaces; including applying caulk, sealant, grout.</li><li>Clean up job site.</li><li>The ambitious helper will leverage training opportunities to develop in their role to progress to Tile Setter Apprentice.</li><li>Any other duties assigned.</li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li>Proficient using and reading a tape measure.</li><li>Ability to operate industry related hand and power tools.</li></ul>Competencies Required to be Successful in this Role:<ul><li>Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.</li></ul><ul><li>Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.</li></ul><ul><li>Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.</li></ul><ul><li>Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality.</li></ul><ul><li>Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.</li></ul><ul><li>Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.</li></ul>Physical Demands and Work Environment:<ul><li>Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.</li></ul><ul><li>Continually required to balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.</li></ul><ul><li>Occasionally exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather).</li></ul><ul><li>Frequently work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.</li></ul><ul><li>While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.</li></ul><ul><li>The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 50 pounds.</li></ul><ul><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
