The Systems Support Specialist will report to the Director of Technology.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support and User Assistance:<ul><li>Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for internal employees across various operating systems (macOS, Chrome, iOS) and applications (e.g., Google Workspace, EDU apps, etc.).</li><li>Deploy, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices) and software issues in a timely manner.</li><li>Manage the IT Help Desk system, including logging, tracking, and prioritizing support tickets to meet defined service-level agreements (SLAs).</li><li>Escalate and assign tickets to other members of the IT department in the Helpdesk system.</li><li>Perform user account management, including onboarding (setup and provisioning), offboarding (data retrieval and de-provisioning), and permission changes.</li><li>Oversee the deployment and troubleshooting of audio/visual equipment, including but not limited to projectors, interactive displays, and cameras.</li><li>Copier and printer support, including interactions with third-party support providers.</li></ul>Inventory and Documentation:<ul><li>Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, consumables, and peripherals.</li><li>Oversee the purchase requests for IT equipment and consumables.</li><li>Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT procedures, system configurations, and user guides to facilitate knowledge transfer and self-service.</li><li>Assist with IT procurement processes, researching and recommending new equipment and software purchases.</li><li>Inform the Director of Technology of ongoing IT trends in the Bernard Zell community.</li><li>Assist teachers in creating IT Documentation for classroom projects.</li></ul>School Year Turnover:<ul><li>Manage end-of-year and start-of-year technology processes, including collecting, inspecting, updating, repairing, and deploying student devices and peripherals.</li><li>Maintain classroom technology systems, performing routine upkeep on projectors, interactive displays, and connectivity features to ensure functionality.</li><li>Oversee technology lifecycle and compliance, coordinating recycling, disposal of outdated hardware, and assisting the Director of Technology with Summer interns and related projects.</li></ul>Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience:<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT Helpdesk systems required.</li><li>Experience in troubleshooting macOS and iOS software environments required.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Server products and Linux-based operating systems required.</li><li>BS in CS, CIS, or related discipline, or comparable years of work experience preferred.</li><li>Experience in Bash, PowerShell, Python, GAM, and other scripting languages preferred.</li><li>Any other certifications (Cisco, Apple, Microsoft, A+, etc) preferred.</li><li>Experience managing a Google Apps environment and creating Google Apps scripts preferred.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.</li><li>Ability to be resourceful and work independently is required.</li><li>Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks successfully, with strong attention to detail required.</li><li>Familiarity or experience with JAMF products required.</li><li>Familiarity with Unix Scripting required.</li><li>Familiarity or experience with network infrastructure, including switches and access points preferred.</li></ul>General Information<ul><li>​​​​​​​​The general workday is 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., but must be flexible to attend events and meetings beyond normal working hours.</li><li>Work is performed on site.</li><li>Must be willing and capable of lifting boxes of up to 50 lbs.</li></ul>Compensation: Bernard Zell offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a supportive workplace culture.
