Job Purpose:
We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Banquet Manager to join our team and support the successful execution of all banquet operations. 
Responsibilities:<ul><li>

Prepare tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert table/carts and cordial carts. Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen. Ensure courses are cleared and tables are properly crumbed. Respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements. Replenish buffet items to ensure consistency and freshness in presentation. Monitor tableware to ensure it is presentable to guests. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware, and flatware.
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests&rsquo; service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Job Description 
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership &amp; Supervision<ul><li>
Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a large stewarding team</li><li>
Ensure all stewarding staff arrive on time, properly groomed, and ready for their shifts</li><li>
Assign workstations and tasks during line-up / briefings (start of shift) and pass on necessary information about events / banquet orders</li><li>
Conduct individual development discussions, performance reviews, and corrective action when needed</li><li>
Provide training to kitchen stewards in all duties, including chemical usage, sanitation standards, equipment operation, etc.</li></ul>
Operational / Back-of-House Management<ul><li>
Supervise the cleaning, organization, and sanitation of kitchens, storage rooms, dishwashing areas, back&#8208;of&#8208;house hallways, loading docks, and equipment</li><li>
Oversee opening and closing tasks / checklists for stewarding shifts</li><li>
Coordinate with culinary, banquet, and restaurant teams to ensure that stewarding support is aligned with service needs and event setups</li><li>
Conduct regular inspections / walkthroughs with the Chief Steward / Assistant Steward to ensure compliance with cleanliness, equipment condition, storage, and sanitation standards</li><li>
Manage inventory: chemicals, cleaning supplies, replacement equipment, etc.</li><li>
Monitor breakage of items (china, glass, silverware) and remove chipped or damaged items from circulation</li><li>
Ensure all equipment is working properly; report or coordinate maintenance / repair as needed</li></ul>
Health, Safety &amp; Compliance<ul><li>
Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and food-safety protocols, including local health regulations (e.g., HACCP) and the hotel standards</li><li>
Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning chemicals</li><li>
Maintain a safe working environment; enforce safety rules, proper use of PPE, correct chemical dilution, etc.</li><li>
Take part in or lead health &amp; safety / hygiene inspections, pest control measures if needed</li><li>
Ensure compliance with environmental / waste management policies (garbage removal, recycling) as per hotel standards</li></ul>
Banquet / Events Support<ul><li>
Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure stewarding requirements (china, glassware, silver, equipment) are met</li><li>
Ensure timely setup and breakdown of banquet equipment in coordination with F&amp;B / culinary teams</li><li>
Maintain ready stock of items for special events; ensure storerooms are organized</li></ul>
Communication &amp; Coordination<ul><li>
Facilitate inter-departmental communication (e.g., with kitchen, F&amp;B, events) to align on requirements, shifts, and inventory</li><li>
Participate in departmental meetings, shift briefings, and operational planning</li><li>
Maintain accurate records (logbooks, shift reports, inventory, breakage)</li></ul>
Staffing &amp; Scheduling<ul><li>
Assist in roster planning / scheduling for stewarding teams to match demand (peak service times, banquet events)</li><li>
Fill stewarding positions as needed (e.g., assign extra staff during high-volume or events)</li><li>
Provide shift handovers / pass-offs (using logbooks or written reports) to next shift supervisor</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Previous stewarding supervisory experience in a luxury hotel and/or resort</li><li>
Ability to manage a large team, coach, and develop team members</li><li>
Good understanding of cleaning chemicals, sanitation techniques, kitchen equipment, dishwashing machines, back-of-house workflows</li><li>
Familiarity with food-safety standards (HACCP), health regulation compliance</li><li>
Good verbal and written communication (English), ability to coordinate with multiple departments</li><li>
Able to oversee inventory, scheduling, event setup, and maintenance tasks</li></ul></div>
