I. Job Summary

Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks with front, side, or rear-end load lift attachments dependent on the line of business they're operating in and the type of truck they're operating. Drivers will transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility when trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers are responsible for providing the pick-up service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Containers may weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds and at times require drivers to maneuver wheeled containers to a pick-up stage area. Commercial Drivers navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job. Residential Drivers are responsible for the collection of residential household waste or recyclable material and must safely maneuver vehicles in residential environments. Residential Drivers navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots. Roll-off Drivers are responsible for preparing, loading, and transporting large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. Roll-off Drivers will navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, and high-traffic roadways and may operate in tight overhead environments while on industrial routes. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential, to successfully perform this job.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<br>
<br>
</p><ul><li>Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state and federal laws.</li><li>
Performs pre and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks utilizing the standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).</li><li>
Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.</li><li>
Attends and participates in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Route Manager.</li><li>
Works closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.</li><li>
Notifies Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.</li><li>
Notifies Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets or alleyways, receptacles too heavy to service or potential safety hazards.</li><li>
Communicates customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch.</li><li>
Completely dumps all receptacles and leaves the customer&rsquo;s location clean and free of debris.</li><li>
Follows route assignments as directed and completes end-of-day documentation and check-out process.</li><li>
Performs all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch and assists other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.</li></ul><p><br>

Under general supervision, provide a wide variety of highly responsible and confidential administrative<br>
support for the offices of the Parks &amp; Recreation Senior Leadership team. Services as office manager for<br>
the administrative office, coordinates administrative activities of the department with staff at all levels<br>
and with the general public, and serves as a representative of the administration office in contact with<br>
other employees, elected officials and the general public.</p></div>
<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Examples of Duties</b></h2></div>
<div><p><b>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</b><br>
1. Provides administrative support by performing difficult, diverse, and confidential<br>
administrative duties in support of the Parks &amp; Recreation Senior Leadership team.<br>
2. Provides general customer service to the public by greeting visitors and answering the<br>
telephone. Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive complaints and inquiries; provides<br>
general and specialized information and assistance with the area of assignment that may<br>
require the use of judgment, tact, and sensitivity and the interpretation of policies, rules, and<br>
procedures as appropriate.<br>
3. Conducts assigned research; develops recommendations for Senior Leadership Team and<br>
department wide work methods, operating policy, procedures, and other administrative<br>
issues.<br>
4. Performs purchasing activities for the Senior Leadership team using the City&rsquo;s automated<br>
purchasing system to process purchasing requests and payments, assuring proper budgetary<br>
coding and approval. Researches availability, quality and price of items to be purchased<br>
following appropriate purchasing guidelines.<br>
5. Assists in the preparation and monitoring of the Department&rsquo;s office budget. Reviews<br>
expenditures, detect possible shortages, and project office budgetary needs.<br>
6. Receives program registrations and facility reservations. Provides information and answer<br>
questions about park facilities and recreational programs and events.<br>
7. Collect monies for fees and donations; keep records of all cash receipts, count and balance<br>
funds and prepare for daily deposits.<br>
8. Schedules and coordinates appointments and meetings for the Senior Leadership team,<br>
ensuring all are kept fully informed on all matters requiring their attention.<br>
9. Screens telephone calls and visitors requiring considerable judgment to determine how the<br>
request can best be served; resolves routine and some complex inquiries as qualified or refer<br>
to appropriate individuals.<br>
10. Maintains inventory of office supplies and equipment, ordering additional items as required.<br>
Arranges for the repair and maintenance of office equipment as needed. Run errands locally<br>
to pick up necessary items.<br>
11. Maintains administrative records, files and databases, including entering data in a timely<br>
manner, and maintaining all records in a secure and confidential system.<br>
12. Schedules and coordinates meeting room space and arrangements. Attends meetings and<br>
prepares meeting materials as required.<br>
13. Opens, sorts and distributes incoming mail, including email; determines priorities and how<br>
documents should be handled.<br>
14. Utilizes word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other presentation software to produce<br>
various documents to support administrative functions, proofing and editing work to ensure<br>
clarity, correct spelling and punctuation.<br>
