<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</b></h2></div>
<p></p><div><p>This position supports the food service operations of SCI Pine Grove by leading inmate workers and providing hands-on vocational training. It requires strong food service knowledge, attention to safety, and a commitment to teaching practical skills. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties:</p><ul><li><b>
Skill Instruction:</b> Teach inmates food preparation, production, service, baking, and safe use of tools and equipment</li><li><b>
Meal Preparation:</b> Guide inmates in following recipes, preparing meals on schedule, and maintaining quality standards</li><li><b>
Safety Oversight:</b> Inspect food areas, equipment, and products to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements</li><li><b>
Inventory Management:</b> Requisition, receive, store, and rotate food and supplies using first in, first out procedures</li><li><b>
Work Supervision:</b> Assign tasks, review performance, maintain records, and ensure care, custody, and control during work activities</li><li><b>
Waste Reduction:</b> Adjust recipes based on census data and recycle leftover food into usable products as appropriate</li></ul><div></div><div><br>

Work Schedule and Additional Information:</b></div><ul><li>
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week</li><li>
Work shifts TO BE DETERMINED. You will have rotating days off.<ul><li>
1st shift 4:30 AM to 12:30 PM</li><li>
2nd shift 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM</li></ul></li><li>
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.</li><li><b>
Telework: </b>You will not have the option to telework in this position.</li><li><b>
Salary:</b><b><i> </i></b>Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).</li><li>

<p></p><div><div><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></div><div><b>
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; <b>or</b></li><li>
An equivalent combination of experience and training.</li></ul><div><b><br>
Additional Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.</li><li>
You must be able to perform essential job functions.</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Legal Requirements:</b></div><ul><li>
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.</li></ul><div><b><br>
