 A leading oil and gas major project organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee electrical installation, commissioning, and start-up activities for onshore and offshore facilities. The role includes supervising electrical technicians, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting operational readiness for first oil.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Onshore (Construction/Yard Phase)
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Review operational and project documentation
 </li>

 Compare 3D models with actual construction on site
 </li>
 <li>
 Support equipment FATs/SATs and operational testing procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Raise and track punch lists for deviations, accessibility, and operability issues
 </li>
 <li>
 Supervise commissioning activities including loop and function tests
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare start-up procedures and ensure readiness for operations
 </li>
 <li>
 Support and supervise ATEX inspection activities for electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment

 Offshore (Commissioning/Start-up Phase)

 Assist the production team during commissioning and first oil start-up
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure field operations crew understand procedures and start-up sequence
 </li>

 Act as discipline advisor for electrical systems, supporting the Major Project team
 </li>
 <li>
 Review and approve all discipline-related punch close-outs
 </li>
 <li>
 Monitor installation works to ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Witness operational tests and liaise with commissioning and field teams
 </li>
 <li>
 Support risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews, and HAZID/HAZOP activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain up-to-date &ldquo;red line mark-up&rdquo; P&amp;IDs and ensure key project documentation is available for the field team
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure preventive maintenance of new electrical systems in line with operational requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide training and support to base operations for familiarisation with new facilities
 </li>
 <li>
 Escalate issues to Field Operations Lead or Offshore Team Leader as necessary

 Qualifications &amp; Experience

 Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 10 years&rsquo; experience in electrical and instrumentation roles within offshore operations
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven offshore experience in production, commissioning, and start-up activities
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of electrical safety, ATEX certification, and offshore operation standards
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience supervising technical teams and coordinating with multi-discipline contractors
 </li>

 Ability to work independently and under pressure during critical start-up operations

 Duties and Responsibilities:

 Report to the nominated Qatar gas Maintenance Supervisor.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure compliance at all times with the Qatar gas Permit to Work procedure, Electrical Safety procedure, Environmental Health, Safety and Security procedures, as well as occupational health and safety regulations.

 Conduct toolbox talks for the maintenance crew and ensure safety measures are in place as stipulated in the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to starting the job.

 Observe safety hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses, and report them as per the reporting procedure.

 Direct and provide close onsite supervision of all electrical jobs being performed by the technicians in the assigned area within RG facilities.

 Participate in the troubleshooting and repair of critical electrical equipment during breakdowns, compiling field data for further analysis and investigation.

 Identify common equipment failures and make recommendations for corrective actions.

 Provide accurate maintenance history and closeout reports, maintaining a log of all completed and ongoing work as per company requirements.

 Technical Experience:
 
 Must have hands-on experience in the preventive and corrective maintenance of the following equipment:

 Power and Distribution Transformers with a primary voltage of at least 33kV.
 </li>
 <li>
 Switchgears up to the voltage level of 33kV.
 </li>
 <li>
 Induction motors up to the voltage level of 6.6kV.
 </li>
 <li>
 Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS) and Battery Chargers (BC).
 </li>
 <li>
 Protection relays for Transformers, switchgears, and motors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Plant lighting and Earthing systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Switching and LOTO procedures up to the 6.6kV level.

 Technical Skills:
