<p><b>Position: </b>Director of Crisis &amp; Advocacy Services</p><p><b>Reports to</b>: Co-Executive Director, Programs</p><p><b>Classification: </b>Full-time</p><p><b>Position Summary: </b>The Director of Crisis &amp; Advocacy Services directs our 24-hour crisis services programming, supervises staff managing programs within crisis services, trains and supervises domestic violence volunteer advocates and/or interns, and ensures proper staffing of the crisis line and in-office crisis services. This position also provides direct services to survivors of domestic violence as part of the daytime and on-call crisis line rotation.</p><p><b>Work Conditions</b>: Hybrid work from home (1-2 days) and in-office in Chapel Hill (3-4 days) is required for this position based on program needs. Regular on-call back-up for 24-hr domestic violence crisis line; occasional on-call primary. Periodically move boxes/bags weighing up to 30 pounds; ascend/descend stairs as needed.</p><p><b>Benefits: </b>100% paid health, vision and dental insurance (no employee contribution required). ~5 weeks paid time off, additional paid day off each month, 14 paid holidays per year. Paid parental leave, paid safe leave (domestic violence/sexual assault) and short-term disability benefits. Additional pay for overnight/weekend primary on-call crisis line rotation.</p><p><b>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities </b></p><p><b>Crisis Services Program Management and Service Provision </b></p><p>● Schedule, coordinate, and monitor day-to-day delivery of the 24-hour domestic violence crisis program, with focus on improving the quality of and access to services.</p><p>● Conduct regular reviews of intern/staff crisis work and client records; give appropriate feedback as needed.</p><p>● Maintain appropriate documentation and statistical records of client contacts for grant reporting.</p><p>● Elicit and respond to client concerns and feedback; support team with high-risk or high-need cases.</p><p>● Ensure clear communication of all crisis programming and policy changes to full-and-part-time staff and interns.</p><p>● Provide direct assistance and follow-up with survivors of domestic violence over the phone and in person.</p><p>● Provide regular on-call back-up support to staff/interns for holiday, overnight, and weekend crisis line (typically rotating weeks/weekends per month, exact schedule flexible based on program and staff needs.) o Note: on-call back-up consists primarily of consultation support for staff, may include crisis calls if primary staff are on another call.</p><p>● Provide on-call primary support as needed (additional pay for primary shifts).</p><p><b>Community Advocacy &amp; Relationship Building </b></p><p>● Facilitate relationships with community partners to develop/maintain/improve a comprehensive system of care for survivors and increase awareness of Compass Center&rsquo;s services alongside other Compass Center staff.</p><p>● Support local and regional advocacy efforts through panel discussions, committee meetings, and other systems-focused initiatives.</p><p>● Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses and service providers for the benefit of clients (i.e. relationships with local hotels or taxi companies for crisis assistance).</p><p>March 2026</p><p><b>Staff and Intern Training, Management, and Supervision </b></p><p>● Train and supervise four full-time staff members: Safe Homes Manager, Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP) Manager, Court Manager, and Bilingual Court Manager. Provide back-up support to these crisis programs for critical coverage needs with support of Co-Executive Director of Programs.</p><p>● Train and supervise interns and on-call program assistants as needed.</p><p>● Strengthen overall program staff capacity to address survivor needs through ongoing team training, feedback, and support related to crisis and advocacy services.</p><p>● Facilitate weekly case conference meetings with program staff to discuss client and programmatic topics.</p><p><b>Administration </b></p><p>● Prepare regular program reports and track volunteer/intern hours for grant purposes as needed.</p><p>● Regularly monitor program outcomes based on funder requirements and work with staff to address needs. The Department of Psychiatry of the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time clinical psychologist to join its Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer program. This is an Open Rank fixed term faculty position. This clinical service is a core component of the AYA program which is part of the UNC Comprehensive Cancer Support Program (CCSP). The mission of the CCSP is to deliver exceptional clinical care to patients at the N.C. Basnight Cancer Hospital and other venues served by the School of Medicine and UNC Cancer Care.<br>

This position will provide therapeutic support to AYA patients and their families who receive cancer care at UNC. The person in this position will also have research opportunities in the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical research at the interface of oncology and mental health. In addition, we anticipate the AYA program will provide training to UNC Health professionals and students who work with patients with cancer. The successful candidate should have strong psychological clinical skills and a record of scholarly achievement (including peer-reviewed publications and research experience). Additionally, we are particularly interested in candidates with an established record of extramural research funding, leadership skills, and who have demonstrated an ability to promote a collegial environment that fosters ongoing collaboration.</div>

Position Offering:</p><br>

The Child Adolescent and Eating Disorders Psychiatry Unit is a 28-bed unit comprised of three different focus areas to include 14 Adolescent, 8 Child and 6 Eating Disorders patient beds. Safety is the key component of the care provided as well as introduction of positive coping skills, healthy living and positive leisure activities.</p><p>
This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package including PTO hours, which are accrued based on the number of worked hours. This position requires the ability to attend the required weeklong hospital orientation offered every two weeks.</p><p></p><p><b>
Orientation Schedule: Monday and Tuesday - In person from 8am to 4pm; Wednesday - 8am to 10am Virtual and in person from 1pm to 5 pm; and Thursday and Friday - Virtual.</b></p><p></p><p>
Summary:</p>
Provides routine direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic or home health care setting. All work performed is under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician.<p></p><p><br>
Responsibilities:<br>
1. Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.<br>
2. In the psychiatric setting, aids patients in reality orientation, participates in behavior modification plans/therapy, provides informal support therapy to patients/families, provides verbal de-escalation of potentially aggressive patients, aids in the physical management of aggressive/out-of-control patients, facilitates age appropriate play for children, and monitors the therapeutic milieu activities on assigned unit to ensure that emotional and safety needs of patients are met.<br>
3. Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.<br>
4. Provides assistance to patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge<br>
5. Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to, the measurement of vital signs, height and weight, specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, postural drainage, and supportive 11 patient and family interactions.<br>
6. Provides direct personal care to patients as outlined in plan of care for routine activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation.<br>
7. Provides indirect care to patients and assigned area to include, but not limited to, cleaning the work area, changing linens, re-stocking supplies, cleaning/sterilizing instruments, transporting patients/ supplies/ specimens, assisting in the orientation of new employees and students, and some routine clerical functions.<br>
8. Reinforces routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions. Distributes patient education materials at the request of patients and/or health care providers.</p><p></p><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><br>
