The ideal candidate is responsible for preparing, updating, and coordinating detailed MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings and layouts for interior fit-out projects. The role ensures that drawings are accurate, compliant with project specifications, and fully coordinated with architectural and structural layouts. The MEP Draftsman plays a critical role in translating design intent into buildable and coordinated construction documents.Key Responsibilities1. Drafting &amp; Design Support<ul><li>Prepare detailed MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings based on design and site requirements.</li><li>Convert design drawings and sketches from consultants into coordinated, constructible MEP layouts.</li><li>Ensure drawings adhere to project standards, specifications, and fit-out guidelines.</li><li>Revise drawings as required by site changes, design updates, or client requests.</li><li>Maintain and update all MEP drawings systematically for easy retrieval and version control.</li></ul>2. Coordination<ul><li>Coordinate with architectural, interior design, civil, and structural drawings to ensure no clashes.</li><li>Work closely with MEP engineers and site supervisors to resolve design and coordination issues.</li><li>Attend coordination meetings to review and update MEP layouts as per approved designs and site conditions.</li><li>Support in preparing combined services drawings (CSD) and builder&rsquo;s work drawings (BWD) for approval.</li></ul>3. Site &amp; Technical Support<ul><li>Assist the site team by providing drawing clarifications and technical sketches as required.</li><li>Incorporate redline mark-ups and site modifications into as-built drawings.</li><li>Support the preparation of MEP layout drawings for fabrication, installation, and inspection.</li><li>Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for shop drawings of specialized systems (e.g., HVAC ducting, lighting layouts, plumbing risers).</li></ul>4. Documentation &amp; Quality Control<ul><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date drawing logs, transmittals, and document control records.</li><li>Ensure all drawings comply with quality standards and company drafting procedures.</li><li>Submit drawings for review and approval through proper documentation channels (Aconex, Procore, or similar systems).</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Education: Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related technical field.</li><li>Experience:</li><li>Minimum 5&ndash;8 years of experience as an MEP Draftsman, including at least 3 years in interior fit-out projects (commercial, hospitality, retail, or office).</li><li>Technical Skills:</li><li>Proficient in AutoCAD, with good knowledge of Revit MEP preferred.</li><li>Familiar with local building codes, authority requirements, and MEP fit-out standards.</li><li>Ability to interpret MEP schematics, layouts, and specifications.</li><li>Understanding of coordination principles between HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.</li></ul>Key Competencies<ul><li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple drawings and priorities under tight deadlines.</li><li>Good communication and coordination skills with engineers, designers, and site teams.</li><li>Problem-solving mindset with ability to adapt to design changes.</li><li>Organized, self-motivated, and team-oriented.</li></ul>Typical Project Types<ul><li>Corporate office interiors</li><li>Retail and commercial fit-outs</li><li>Hospitality (restaurants, hotels, lounges)</li><li>Healthcare and educational interiors</li></ul>Performance Indicators<ul><li>Accuracy and quality of MEP drawings.</li><li>Timeliness of drawing submissions and revisions.</li><li>Coordination effectiveness with other disciplines.</li><li>Compliance with design intent and fit-out standards.</li><li>Quality and completeness of as-built documentation.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeExperience:<ul><li>Total: 5 years (Required)</li></ul>
