This is a full-time LIVE-I N salaried position.Duties<ul><li>Oversee all aspects of daily operations within the assisted living home, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.</li><li>Coordinate and supervise caregiving staff to deliver personalized assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.</li><li>Monitor residents&rsquo; health by checking vital signs and observing for signs of cognitive or physical decline; respond promptly to any health concerns.</li><li>Oversee medication assistance following prescribed protocols and maintain accurate documentation.</li><li>Implement behavior management strategies tailored to residents with developmental or intellectual disability, cognitive impairments such as TBIs or FASDS or mental illness.</li><li>Lead group activities, social work initiatives, and community engagement efforts to promote mental stimulation and social interaction among residents.</li><li>Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained through regular cleaning routines; manage meal preparation in accordance with dietary needs.</li><li>Drive residents safely in standard passenger cars for appointments or outings while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.</li><li>Communicate effectively with residents&rsquo; families, healthcare providers, and support teams to coordinate care plans and address individual needs.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience in assisted living or residential care home environments with a strong understanding of geriatrics and senior care principles.</li><li>Expertise in assisting with ADLs, medication management, vital signs monitoring, knowledge and experience working with adults with developmental, and intellectual, and mental illness disabilities.</li><li>Familiarity with ALH record keeping, daily progress notes, group home operations, and home &amp; community care practices.</li><li>Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including moderate lifting and with patient transfers by standby assist.</li><li>Knowledge of behavioral management techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments or mental illness.</li><li>Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and team members effectively.</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification to ensure immediate response during emergencies; experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.</li><li>Capable of operating a standard passenger car safely; experience driving for client outings.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff while fostering a compassionate environment focused on resident well-being.</li></ul>Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication directly enhances the quality of life for vulnerable adults in our community!Pay: $73,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid orientation</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Work Location: In person

 Position Summary
 
 
 
 Performs screening and phlebotomy procedures at mobile blood drives or at BBAK location as assigned by Team Manager or designee. Works in conjunction with other team members to provide a pleasant, safe and professional donation environment while following appropriate procedures as qualified and competent to perform.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Primary Donor Screening Responsibilities

 Register potential blood donors using the BECS program.
 </li>
 <li>
 Review Donor History Forms (DHF) for completeness; evaluates donors medical history for suitability as a blood donor. Consults with RN/Medical Director as indicated.
 </li>
 <li>
 Takes vital signs; performs finger stick for hematocrit.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs confidential interview with donors; instructs the donor regarding the Interview Response Section (IRS) of the DHF and in Life Trak.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensures that the donor has read and understands the pre-post donation instructions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs daily, monthly and quarterly quality control procedures per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
 </li>
 <li>
 Serves as a resource for donor inquiries.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
 </li>
 <li>
 Restocks supply items necessary for donor screening.
 </li>
 <li>
 Considers all blood donor and personnel information confidential.
 </li>
 <li>
 Represents the Blood Bank of Alaska (BBAK) in a professional manner at all times.

 Primary Phlebotomy Responsibilities

 Performs phlebotomy procedures on blood donors according to SOPs and as trained and qualified to perform.

 Maintains aseptic work area; sterilizes instruments per SOP.
 </li>
 <li>
 Restocks supply items necessary for phlebotomy procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs quality control procedures per SOP.
 </li>
 <li>
 Considers all blood donor and personnel information confidential.

 Prior experience working in a blood bank preferred. Prior experience performing phlebotomy in a in a medical setting strongly preferred. Demonstrated work experience in an environment utilizing skills attained through one of the approved certification processes. Preferred candidate will have experience in Apheresis and/or Dialysis.
 
 
 
 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, ETC.
 
 
 
 Preferred but not required is one of the following certifications: National Phlebotomy Certification, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician. Other certifications will be evaluated on an individual basis. Prior military/blood banking other experience may be taken into consideration in substitution of a certification. Driver&rsquo;s license required.
 
 
 
 WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
 
 
 Potential hazard due to exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. The Blood Bank of Alaska follows OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards in the workplace. Hours of work will vary according to the schedule of blood drives. Will be required to work an irregular schedule, with some long hours on occasion.
