<p>We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy professional to serve in a dual-capacity role as <b>Accountant / Trustee</b> for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting regulatory and tax compliance, monitoring trust and entity-level obligations, and helping ensure that the REIT operates in accordance with governing documents, fiduciary standards, and applicable laws.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience with real estate entities or investment vehicles, and a clear understanding of fiduciary duties, governance, and trust administration. This role requires discretion, accuracy, sound judgment, and the ability to work closely with ownership, legal counsel, tax advisors, and third-party administrators.</p><p>Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Maintain the general ledger and oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the REIT and related entities</li><li>Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements</li><li>Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheets, intercompany accounts, and investment activity</li><li>Track rental income, distributions, property-level expenses, reserves, debt service, and capital expenditures</li><li>Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions</li><li>Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the REIT portfolio</li><li>Support annual audits, reviews, and financial reporting requirements</li><li>Coordinate with external CPAs on tax filings, including REIT-specific compliance matters</li><li>Monitor distribution calculations and assist in verifying compliance with REIT income and distribution requirements</li><li>Maintain accurate records for investors, ownership interests, trusts, and related entities</li><li>Assist with entity structuring records, capital contributions, and distribution schedules</li></ul><p>Trustee / Fiduciary Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Serve as trustee or trust administrator, where applicable, in accordance with trust agreements and governing documents</li><li>Carry out fiduciary duties with loyalty, care, impartiality, and good faith</li><li>Maintain complete and accurate trust records, resolutions, and documentation</li><li>Ensure the trust and REIT entities are administered in compliance with governing instruments and applicable state and federal law</li><li>Review trust agreements, operating documents, and organizational records to ensure adherence to trustee obligations</li><li>Coordinate trustee actions with legal counsel, tax professionals, and executive leadership</li><li>Assist with maintaining corporate formalities, meeting records, and compliance calendars</li><li>Oversee document retention, trust account administration, and recordkeeping for trust-held assets or interests</li><li>Help facilitate distributions, approvals, signatures, and trustee consents where required</li><li>Monitor deadlines, reporting obligations, and compliance requirements tied to fiduciary administration</li></ul><p>Compliance and Governance</p><ul><li>Assist with compliance related to REIT qualification, entity governance, and regulatory filings</li><li>Support preparation of internal reports for executives, trustees, and stakeholders</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of financial records, ownership information, trust matters, and investor data</li><li>Coordinate with attorneys and compliance professionals on legal, tax, and governance matters</li><li>Help establish and maintain internal controls, approval workflows, and documentation standards</li><li>Ensure proper handling of sensitive trust, entity, and investor information</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field</li><li>CPA, CMA, or trust-related certification preferred but not required</li><li>5+ years of accounting, trust administration, or real estate finance experience preferred</li><li>Experience with real estate entities, investment vehicles, partnerships, LLCs, or REIT structures strongly preferred</li><li>Understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, trust administration, and corporate governance principles</li><li>Familiarity with financial reporting, audits, tax coordination, and entity-level compliance</li><li>Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and Overview:

The Corporate Ownership Controller is the senior financial and accounting person for each group of ownership entities for which he/she has responsibility. The position is responsible for all aspects of financial management, financial control, accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of assigned hotel ownership entities. The Corporate Ownership Controller&rsquo;s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely, responsive and accurate completion of the job responsibilities below.</div>
Responsibilities:<div></div><div><br>

Establishment, documentation, maintenance and compliance with the Company&rsquo;s systems of accounting and financial reporting, and internal operating, accounting and financial reporting controls</li><li>
Technical compliance with U.S. GAAP (&ldquo;GAAP&rdquo;), inclusive of research and memo writing (or review of such) for timely conclusion of non-routine and other transactions covering multiple complex technical accounting U.S. GAAP issues.</li><li>
Management of financial and accounting aspects of purchases, sales, transaction closings, takeovers and exits of properties</li><li>
Management of the initial set up of new entities, including identifying and managing GAAP and other compliance, control and reporting issues</li><li>
Understanding and compliance with all corporate, partnership, debt and other contractual documents for all hotel related entities</li><li>
Timely review of monthly financial statements of all hotel properties and related entities including corporate consolidation and reporting of hotel properties and ownership entities</li><li>
Coordination of all financial communications with owners</li><li>
Management of debt, construction and other financing and capital transactions</li><li>
Monitoring of consolidating cash, cash flow, accounts receivable and operating forecasts of all hotel related entities</li><li>

7-10 + years of Public Accounting and/or corporate/ownership related financial management, financial reporting and accounting experience required.</li><li>

Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Ability to travel and work overtime as necessary to complete assigned duties</li><li>
