The Plant Manager in Training program is designed to develop future operational leaders through hands-on experience in all aspects of salvage yard operations. Working closely with Plant Managers and leadership teams, this role will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to oversee production, sales, inventory, safety, customer service, and administrative functions while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Through a structured training program, the Plant Manager in Training will learn to lead teams, drive operational performance, support financial objectives, and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a career in operations leadership with a clear path toward Plant Manager responsibilities.
This position may train in one or more of the following markets: Mt. Airy, MD, Baltimore, MD, and Edgewood Locations. Travel and temporary assignments within these markets may be required as part of the training program.
Essential Job Duties<ul><li>
Train to oversee all departments for the specific facility pertaining to production, sales, administration and distribution.</li><li>
Train to manage human resources for all departments by hiring, terminating, and reassigning personnel to appropriate tasks as required.</li><li>
Train to review all financials for correctness; compare to budget and take appropriate actions as required.</li><li>
Train to interact with customers to determine better service needs and implement changes accordingly.</li><li>
Train to formulate procedural changes for the handling of products to ensure high quality.</li><li>
Train to oversee quality control and implement changes as necessary.</li><li>
Train to chair plant meetings as required.</li><li>
Train to administer disciplinary action as necessary.</li><li>
Attend national plant managers' meetings as required.</li><li>
Train to maintain communication within plant, region and company networks.</li><li>
Initiate and support the continual improvement of the Pick Your Part quality improvement system.</li><li>
Assume other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Requirements:

Education &amp; Experience<ul><li>
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.</li></ul>
Preferred Requirements<ul><li>
5+ years' experience in the automotive Industry.</li></ul>
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities<ul><li>
Proficiency in fundamental math skills, including working with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as analyzing rates, ratios, percentages, and graphs.</li><li>
Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.</li><li>
Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.</li><li>

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment<ul><li>

The Finance team supports accurate, timely financial processing and reporting at corporate and facility levels, enabling operational continuity and strong internal controls.

 Summary/Objective

Responsible for ensuring smooth processes and the swift resolution of discrepancies and serves as the primary point of contact for OEMs.

<ul><li> Model, Kit, and BOM Management:</li></ul>
Create and update models, kits, and BOM (Bill of Materials) within the system to ensure alignment with operational requirements and accuracy. Ensure all kits are priced according to customer contracts.
<ul><li> Error Resolution:</li></ul>
Collaborate with operations and IT teams to resolve system errors, focusing on ICL and OBT errors to reduce AR aging and ensure smooth operations.
<ul><li> Revenue Audits:</li></ul>
Conduct weekly audits of the Earned Revenue Report to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Distribute the audited reports to Office Accounting Managers (OAMs) for review and action.
<ul><li> Billing Instructions:</li></ul>
Generate and send monthly billing instructions to the AR team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
<ul><li> Primary Contact for OEM:</li></ul>
Act as the main contact for OEM regarding system and billing discrepancies. Work with internal teams and OEM contacts to address and resolve issues promptly and proactively.
<ul><li> Manage and Oversee Account Coordinators:</li></ul>
Supervisors will manage and oversee Account Coordinators, ensuring alignment with operational needs and company objectives. In some instances, Supervisors and Account Coordinators may be the same person, allowing for continuity and efficiency in operations.
