Job Summary: </b>The Chief Engineer oversees the maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring all systems, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, and energy controls, are functioning efficiently. This role manages maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and timely completion of projects to maintain guest satisfaction and hotel operations.</p></div><p></p><div><p><b><br>
Essential Functions</b><b> and Duties</b><b>:</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p>
Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Supervise maintenance operations, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, A/C units, lighting, and fire/life safety systems.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Monitor and manage energy consumption (electric, gas, oil, water) for efficiency.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Oversee contracted services (electrical, plumbing, cleaning) to meet hotel standards and guest expectations.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, evaluations, and scheduling.</p></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><p>
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all maintenance projects according to specifications.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Coordinate with Housekeeping and Security on operations, key control, and safety procedures.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Assist with project planning and work closely with architects and contractors on bids and blueprints.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Manage maintenance agreements and contracts, including landscaping and snow removal.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Develop and maintain maintenance programs for guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel equipment.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Perform inventory management, purchasing duties, and budget development for the department.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Ensure cleanliness and organization of workspaces and attend meetings as required by the General Manager.</p></li></ul></div><p></p><div><p><i>

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:</b></p></div><div><ul><li><p>
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel engineering or maintenance management.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Strong knowledge of systems including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, and energy controls.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Proven ability to manage maintenance staff and contractors, including hiring, training, and evaluation.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>
Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and purchasing for maintenance operations.</p></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><p>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Troubleshoot and diagnose cause of electronic or mechanical malfunctions using knowledge, manuals, SOPs, specifications, and other workplace aids</li><li>
Program and modify new and existing PLC programs</li><li>
Resolve and repair all system faults and anomalies associated with installation, operation, maintenance, and connectivity problems including changes, adjustments, and modifications to control code and standard operating parameters</li><li>
Write and debug PLC Logic and make recommendations for major corrective actions</li><li>
Troubleshoot problems dealing with plant instrumentation and automation equipment including valves; pressure; temperature; level, flow, conductivity, speed, force instruments; motor controls; PLC's, HMI's, etc.</li><li>
Obtain drawings, instructional manuals, and special procedures as needed from files or other sources. Make any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., as necessary</li><li>
Develop applications using Human Machine Interfaces</li><li>
Perform maintenance tasks to include repairing, planning, coordinating, and improving, from minor rebuilds to major overhauls on all equipment</li><li>
Identify processing waste reduction opportunities and manage waste reduction projects</li><li>
Communicate, coach, and train employees to continuously improve the team's ability to respond to equipment failures and loss of production</li><li>
Areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to: Production support, Mechanical Room, Water Processing, Boiler Room, Wastewater Treatment, Water Chemical Treatment Program</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<ul><li>Five or more years proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Intermediate working knowledge level of PLC programming and automation</li><li>
Prior experience with high- and low-pressure compressors, chillers, water treatment, boilers is required.</li><li>
Strong technical knowledge of compressed air systems (pneumatics), electrical systems, hydraulics and water processing</li><li>
Must be self-managed and efficient when performing work unsupervised</li><li>
Proficient computer navigation skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications</li><li>
Available for call-ins or to cover all shifts to support production teams as required</li><li>
Be able to work flexible schedule as determined by business needs.</li><li>
Must be able to foster and build a team</li><li>
