 The Duty Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the hotel. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting technical issues, supervising the engineering team during shifts, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

THE POSITION
To maintain all Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC equipment in good working condition by carrying out necessary repairs &amp; preventive maintenance.
KEY ROLES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>
Reports to the Duty Engineer/ Shift Leader regarding daily work progress and work order completion.</li><li>
Fault finding &amp; trouble shooting of reported guest room complaints</li><li>

Carries out all other tasks assigned by the Supervisor/Duty Engineer.</li><li>
Follow up on the task assigned daily. Work on all trades as assigned by the supervisor.</li><li>
Follow up on the Dubai Municipality compliances.</li><li>
Maintain and updated daily logs and task sheets.</li><li>
Take all the meter readings and update in the log back.</li></ul>
OTHER
These includes but are not limited to the following:<ul><li>
Able to read Building Services &amp; electrical drawings.</li><li>
Able to fault find and repair electrical controls and systems.</li><li>
Good understanding of electrical installations and systems within modern buildings; TV, Dimmers, BMS, LV controls etc</li><li>
Good practical skills capable of the installation and maintenance of SWA, Conduit, Trunking FP 2000 etc. to a high standard.</li><li>
Familiar with planned Preventive Maintenance and Safety programmes.</li><li>

 Job Description

 Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on property&rsquo;s facilities and equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect all areas of the property for safety issues and take immediate corrective action
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist guests regarding property facilities in an informative and helpful way
 </li>
 <li>
 To inspect, clean, maintain and repair all MEP system available at the premises.
 </li>
 <li>
 To maintain all lighting throughout hotel.
 </li>
 <li>
 To maintain all HVAC units.
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshoot and repair all equipment that is non-operational.
 </li>
 <li>
 Do all work orders pertain to the hotel.
 </li>
 <li>
 Answer all calls and does repairs, if unable to do repairs, must notify the duty engineer of the problem.
 </li>
 <li>
 To maintain the reading of utility meters and report if any deviation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Daily walk around on all plant rooms, workshop and report if any deviation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Take daily engineering all operation checklist in order to ensure equipment&rsquo;s are working in good condition.
 </li>
 <li>
 Give proper handover to next shift with pending issues, major work if any update.
 </li>
 <li>
 Acknowledge complaints within given time frame before it goes to escalation and complete the job, if it&rsquo;s pending report to duty engineer to stop with detailed explanation in remarks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Follow the pending complaints during your shift and complete the work in coordination with Engineering Shift Leader.
 </li>
 <li>
 Do the PPM for all equipment as instructed by Engineering Shift Leader on monthly bases and update the PPM Job sheet to be validated by Chief Engineer.
 </li>
 <li>
 Operate BMS System as per requirements and notify to Engineering Shift Leader if any changes made during your shift such as override valves/fans.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain cleanliness of workshop, working place and plant rooms before/during/after the work.
