Job Duties</b></h2></div><div><p>
Scope of practice:</p><ul><li>
This position is open to both Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship trained or General Pediatric/Internal Medicine-Pediatric residency trained physicians. No hematology-oncology specific training is required for the residency-trained applicant. Training will be provided after hiring.</li><li>
Residency trained applicants do not need to have Hospital Medicine fellowship training- they may be hired directly out of residency.</li><li>
Both types of applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage inpatient care of Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant patients. They will attend to patient&rsquo;s medical needs on admitted inpatients as well as assist with new admissions.</li><li>
Based on their training, applicants can oversee junior level personnel including fellows, residents and advanced practice practitioners and can be involved in education.</li></ul><p></p><p><br>
Roles include:</p><p>
Approximately 8 weeks of in-house night coverage per year.</p><p>
Fellowship trained physicians:</p><ul><li>
Attending on the inpatient (daytime) service teams within the faculty attending rotation.</li><li>

The GHN division, which completed &gt; 30,000 outpatient visits and &gt; 3,300 endoscopies in 2024-25, offers specific GHN expertise in advanced endoscopy, aerodigestive disorders, celiac disease, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, hepatology and liver transplantation, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal rehabilitation, neurogastroenterology/motility and pancreaticobiliary disease. The division cares for over 100 children requiring home TPN as part of their intestinal rehabilitation. The division has a strong academic focus with over 200 IRB approved protocols, yielding more than 60 peer-reviewed publications per year, supported by multiple NIH and foundation grants.</p><p></p><p><br>
The recruited faculty would join a highly collaborative group of more than 35 MD/DO faculty, 10 advanced practice providers, 12 GHN fellows, 1 transplant hepatology fellow, and talented and dedicated staff comprised of clinical nurse coordinators, GHN specialized dieticians, social workers, endoscopy technicians and registered nurses.</p><p></p><p><br>
The ideal applicant should be eligible to be an assistant, associate or full Professor (tenure track possible) in the Department of Pediatrics with an established expertise in nutrition and intestinal rehabilitation. This is a 100% clinical position with a significant focus on intestinal rehabilitation. An interest in gastroenterology in neonates would be welcome.</p><p><br>
