Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a Short- Term, Non-Continuing Instructional Aide to assist in welding classes at Ukiah High School.
 
This is a temporary, non-continuing position. This position is open until filled.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
 
This is a Short-Term Non-Continuing (STNC), temporary, hourly position, 3-5 hours per week, $20.71 per hour; Ed Code 88003 authorizes a governing board to hire STNC employees for less than 75% of a school year, up to 180 days.

Benefits: The College offers a Bronze level benefit plan at the cost of the employee.
 
Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn forty (40) hours of sick leave per fiscal year.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
 
The successful candidate will support student and institutional success by executing the following duties:
 
Provides instructional support to students during class and/or lab time
 Notifies students of additional services on campus; such as tutoring and other resources
 Assists faculty with material coordination and/or dispersion
 May assist with data entry
 May assist with set up of classroom materials and exhibits
 May assist students with computer usage or software
 
Other duties as assigned Program Duties: 
Support lab instruction for welding courses
 Set and clean up lab areas
 Maintain safety standards and support student learning
 WORKING CONDITIONS
 Classroom setting; subject to moderate noise; frequent interruptions; frequent social interactions. May lift up to 25 pounds.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
 
Must have sufficient, appropriate subject matter expertise.
 
Education: 
High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required, AA preferred
 
KNOWLEDGE OF: 
Specific curriculum and any equipment or tools, as appropriate to the classroom setting;
 Basic teaching and learning principles, study skills, and customer service skills;
 Appropriate language skills including usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary;
 Basic arithmetic;
 Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy

We are seeking a proactive and customer-oriented Part-Time IT Support Specialist to provide technical support across our 5 store locations in Northern California. This position plays a key role in maintaining the daily functionality of our systems by responding to IT support tickets, assisting store managers and administrative staff, and performing onsite troubleshooting as needed.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Serve as an IT point of contact for store managers and the administrative team.
</li><li>Monitor and manage the internal help desk/ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of issues.
</li><li>Provide in-person technical support at all 5 store locations on a rotating/as-needed basis.
</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and point-of-sale system issues.
</li><li>Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other store equipment.
</li><li>Maintain documentation of support requests, solutions, and hardware/software inventory.
</li><li>Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs or support when necessary.
</li><li>Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees from a technology access standpoint (e.g., email, system logins).
</li><li>Support Wi-Fi, phone systems, and basic networking functions at each store.
</li><li>Help implement IT best practices and improve system reliability across locations.
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Proven experience in IT support, preferably in a retail or multi-location environment.
</li><li>Working knowledge of networking, ideally with experience in VLANs.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, networking basics, and troubleshooting hardware/software.
</li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
