Provide medical care and management for patients, exercising autonomy in medical decision-making and services provided for the Internal Medicine patient with an emphasis on cardiology patients. Function independently to plan, deliver, and evaluate health care for the Internal Medicine cardiology inpatient population. Job includes rotating through several services, including hospitalist teams and cardiology consult team
As the hospitalist team, facilitate the transition of care from the ED to inpatient cardiology services. Focus on the caring for hospitalized patients to manage care and length of stay, improve resource utilization and decrease costs to patients and the institution while providing personalized care. On the cardiology consult service, evaluate and manage cardiology consult inpatients and work with the primary team to facilitate appropriate care, including cardiac catheterization, and medication therapy. <div>The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry inpatient unit (1JPW) is looking for an experienced Behavioral Health Consultant to assist in program development, assessment, and behavioral treatment for individuals with severe challenging behaviors. Patients may have a history of mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities, or medical illnesses that make them vulnerable.
Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatry (1JPW):
The 1JPW unit is a 15-bed inpatient unit dedicated to psychiatric evaluation and care of child and adolescent patients (3-17 years old). Patients on the child and adolescent unit experience depression, anxiety, eating disorders, intellectual disabilities, substance use disorders, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Members of a full complement of professionals provide structured therapy, including dialectical behavior therapy. A unique unit design incorporates Circle School, gymnasium, and outdoor activities to improve patient experience and outcomes.
Position Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Prepares for individual patient contacts and assessments through review of medical charts and pre-appointment contact with patient, family, and caregivers. Prepares intake summary information for the inpatient unit.</li><li>
Identifies behavior goals for hospitalization, assist team in the development of behavior programming and data collection. Reviews data with psychologist as necessary and develops additional assessment and treatment plans.</li><li>
Assists in gathering objective data for behavioral assessment and treatment implementation.</li><li>
Actively involved in implementing behavior treatment on the unit and coaching staff with frequent involvement in prevention of challenging behaviors, de-escalation and crisis management.</li><li>
Coordinates behavior programming with interdisciplinary team members. Consults with interdisciplinary team members and provides training for staff as appropriate.</li><li>
Completes literature reviews and continuing education in the area of applied behavior analysis and dialectical behavior therapy.</li><li>

 The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking Patient Care Technicians in the Surgery Specialty Services Unit (2RC) to perform specific tasks to assist members of the Nursing team in providing patient care under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. This unit is part of the Medical Surgical Services (MSS) Division.
 
 
 The Adult Acute Care Unit is a 30-bed, medical surgical unit. We serve a variety of patient populations including the Family Medicine service along with specialized surgical patients. The surgical patients include otolaryngology (ENT), oral surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. We are able to provide our patients with all private rooms, which allows for a more comfortable experience for both patients and their families. We have a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team that helps to provide excellent patient care to all patients on our unit. Our goal is to provide each patient an individualized care plan, and provide them the support and care they need and deserve.

 The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to assist members of the nursing team in provision of multiple types of patient care in in-patient and out-patient care areas. Their work requires familiarity with a wide variety of nursing procedures used in delivering patient care.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

 Communicates and interacts with patients, visitors, and other health care professionals in an effective manner and maintains positive, cooperative relationships

 Proficient in navigating web-based resources and using online clinical and business applications

 Performs computer functions within scope of role as defined by the individual unit

 Maintains accurate census information; (e.g., timely ADT entry into IDX, Premise bed board activities, correct level of accommodation charges, and census reconciliation)

 Notifies appropriate health care professionals of a patient admission and prepares the required forms with patient identification information
