Join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor and you&rsquo;ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. We&rsquo;ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!</p><div></div><p><br>
How does it work? Every school day you&rsquo;ll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you&rsquo;ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. You&rsquo;ll repeat until all your students are served.</p><div></div><p><br>
With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you&rsquo;ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!</p><div></div><p><br>

Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support</li><li>
Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach</li><li>
Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software</li><li>
Commit to your own growth through coaching and training</li><li>

Essential Qualifications</b></div><div></div><p><br>
By the time you begin your service with Reading Corps, you should be:</p><ul><li>
Dependable and have a history of good attendance</li><li>
Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback</li><li>
Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online)</li><li>
Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing</li><li>
18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent</li><li>
A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States</li><li>
Able to successfully complete a background check</li></ul><br>

Compensation &amp; Perks Package:

Schedule</b></div><p>
We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026&ndash;June 2027.</p><ul><li>
35 hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)</li><li>
Daytime hours (corresponding with school start and end times)</li><li>
Monday-Friday (no weekends)</li><li>
Time off on holidays and school release days</li></ul><div></div><p><br>
Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week!</p><p>
AmeriCorps positions include a total service-hour commitment for the program year. Most hours are completed through regular site-based service; members work with program staff to plan their schedule and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside of the school day as needed.</p><div></div><div><b><br>
Pay &amp; Benefits</b></div><div></div><p><br>
Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks. Compensation: $15.75 per hour served and additional perks! Learn more.</p><ul><li>
