<div><div>This Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is based in Miami, FL at a 417-bed acute care facility in west Miami-Dade County. The hospital is a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center &mdash; certified by both the Florida Department of Health and verified by the American College of Surgeons &mdash; as well as a Joint Commission&ndash;certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center and one of five American Burn Association&ndash;verified Burn Centers in Florida. The facility also supports six ACGME-accredited Graduate Medical Education programs and two full-service freestanding emergency departments.<br>

The role. Respiratory Therapists at this hospital provide direct bedside care across a clinically complex patient population that includes trauma, burn, surgical, and pediatric cases. Day-to-day responsibilities center on conducting patient assessments &mdash; including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure &mdash; and performing diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory interventions. You will administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, as well as assist with artificial airway placement and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation. The role also involves transporting ventilator-dependent patients and responding to emergent situations, including ensuring airway integrity and supporting ventilation during resuscitation events.<br>

Administers &amp; Coordinates medical prescribed therapy as assigned.</li><li>
Prioritizes Patient therapy according to patient acuity on a daily basis.</li><li>
Accountable for administration, observation, charting and reporting effects of drugs, oxygen respiratory treatments and other theraputic and diagnostic measures.</li><li>
Completes assignments on a timely basis while adapting to changing workloads when required.</li><li>
Maintains individual standard shift productivity.</li><li>
Demostrates knowledge of indications, contraindications, hazards and troubleshooting of all treatments as assigned.</li><li>
Demonstrates effective and efficient care through clinical competencies at least annually.</li><li>
Demonstrates competency in drawing and/or running arterial blood gases at least annually.</li><li>
Completes all forms in electronic medical record and departmental records accurately and legibly according to hospital/departmental policy and procedure.</li><li>
Communicates pertinent information at shift report.</li><li>
Fulfills on call resposibilities according to departmental policy.</li><li>
Participates in critical care program as an educator as needed</li><li>
Monitors ventilation patients according to departmental standards.</li><li>
Demonstrates ability to teach and educate patient and family according to departmental policies and procedures.</li><li>
Uses supplies, equipment and resources in a cost effective manner.</li><li>
Assists Department in Respiratory Student rotations.</li><li>
All related duties as necessary</li><li>
Provides direct assistance to patients and co-workers as assigned by the Clinical Manager.</li><li>
Demonstrates competency in performing 12 Lead EKG.</li><li>
Demonstates knowledge of crisis intervention, verbal de escalation and physical intervention (i.e. mental health, Baker Act, etc).</li><li>
Successfully completes CPI training and provides assistance with aggressive patients.</li><li>
Anticipates patients needs, provides customer service.</li><li>
Demonstrates competency in obtaining vital signs, identifying abnormal values and reporting findings.</li><li>
Provides 1:1 (sitter) care for patients as needed.</li><li>
Transports patients for tests, procedures, etc as needed.</li><li>
