The Application Development Senior Specialist role is responsible for leading the design, develop, test, and maintenance of software applications tailored to meet business needs of Vodafone Oman. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise in application development, and a passion for delivering high-quality, user-centric solutions.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

• Analyse business needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Design, develop, and deploy applications using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, designers, QA analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing applications, identifying areas for enhancement.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience
• Write well-documented, clean, and efficient code that aligns with company standards and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve development processes
• Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Core Competencies, Knowledge and experience:

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with application frameworks (e.g., .NET, Spring, Angular, React).
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and web services (REST/SOAP).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A minimum of 6 years of proven expertise in developing applications and engineering software solutions
