We seek candidates with a strong background in thermo-fluid sciences applied to buildings and energy systems, with an emphasis on advanced experimental methods and high-fidelity modelling. The official title for this position is Research Assistant Professor, with the working title of Engineering Assistant Professor. Research-track faculty at TAMUQ are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and develop an independent research program, as well as to engage through scholarship within the university and their discipline.

 This non-tenure track position assumes a 9-month academic appointment with an anticipated start date of Spring 2024 or Fall 2024, depending on the applicant's availability. The hired faculty member is eligible to receive a startup package that covers the summer salary for three years. Following this period, faculty members at Texas A&amp;M at Qatar have a 9-month appointment and may cover the salary of the remaining months from externally funded grants and/or teaching and services.

 The Mechanical Engineering Program at Texas A&amp;M University at Qatar (hqatar.tamu.edu/programs/mechanical-engineering/) currently has 10 faculty members who have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. There is support in Qatar for research from Qatar National Research Fund and industry. Faculty members may advise graduate students enrolled in degree programs at Texas A&amp;M University.

 The ideal candidate should possess a doctorate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. The candidate should have a demonstrated scholarly record in the area of robotics and smart systems with a relevant Ph.D. dissertation and publications in reputable journals. The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, developing a viable research program, and service at the professional and institutional levels.
