A Critical Care or ED background and a BSN, or higher, is required. This is a unique opportunity to engage with an active clinical research team doing cutting edge NIH and industry-sponsored research focused on women&rsquo;s cardiovascular health.

The position will involve direct patient care in the context of several patient-oriented research studies focused on the intersection of vasomotor symptoms and cardiovascular health, while also participating in a broader portfolio of clinical and translational scholarship related to women&rsquo;s cardiovascular health.

The fellow will play a central role in patient-oriented study execution, including participant recruitment and consent, conduct of study visits, collection and review of study data, and data quality control. The fellow will contribute to data analysis, abstract and manuscript preparation, and development of related scholarly projects within the lab.<br>
This position is well suited for an early-career physician with strong interest in clinical investigation, women&rsquo;s cardiovascular health, epidemiology, and translational research. We are looking for a talented, motivated Clinical Research Assistant who is eager to learn and work in a quickly adaptive environment to join Dr. Scott Snapper&rsquo;s Lab in the IBD Center at Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital. You will be working with a team of clinical research coordinators in a collaborative, pre-professional environment and will be involved in an exciting area of research that is focused on better understanding the genetic and environmental factors that lead to the pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. To advance our understanding of this complex disease, we leverage expertise in gastroenterology, mucosal immunology, genomics/bioinformatics, and translational medicine.<br>

<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><ul><li>
Coordinating various clinical and translational research studies.</li><li>
Recruiting and enrolling study participants in an inpatient and outpatient clinical setting.</li><li>
Collecting and processing of biological specimens.</li><li>
Completing data entry for active studies.</li><li>
Assisting with the analysis of clinical metadata compiled through various databases.</li><li>
Performing a variety of innovative translational and clinical research studies.</li><li>
Depending on need and interest, involvement in studies related to analysis of human sequence data, as well as translational research techniques.</li></ul>

<b>Minimum Qualifications</b><br>
<b>Education:</b><ul><li>
A Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health related field is required.</li></ul><b>
Experience:</b><ul><li>
The analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.</li><li>
Enjoy working in a collaborative setting with existing team members.</li><li>
Effective communication skills with parents/study participants to explain the research protocol, to obtain informed consent, to obtain accurate information from them, and to provide them with accurate information.</li><li>
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle challenging and potentially competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.</li></ul></div>

In this role, you will support the coordination and delivery of clinical programs, working closely with care teams and patients to manage chronic conditions, support preventive initiatives, and contribute to research-related activities.</p><p>The Center for Health Equity Research advances equitable health outcomes through community-centered care and clinical research. By integrating preventive care, specialty clinics, and evidence-based interventions, the Center works to address chronic disease disparities, improve access, and enhance long-term outcomes for the communities we serve.</p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Coordinate clinical program activities including Remote Patient Monitoring, specialty clinics, and prevention initiatives</li><li>Identify and engage eligible patients through outreach, referrals, and registry review</li><li>Provide patient education on chronic disease management, screening, and follow-up care</li><li>Support clinical research activities including recruitment, enrollment, and data collection</li><li>Ensure compliance with IRB protocols, regulatory standards, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)</li><li>Coordinate referrals and support navigation to specialty and supportive services</li><li>Document patient interactions and maintain accurate clinical and research data</li><li>Collaborate with care teams to improve workflows, program outcomes, and quality initiatives</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts</li><li>3&ndash;5 years of RN experience, preferably in primary care, population health, or research settings</li><li>Experience with phlebotomy required</li><li>Experience with EMR systems required; EPIC strongly preferred</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard computer applications</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills</li><li>Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments</li><li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification</li></ul><p><b>Join Our Team!</b></p><p>Whittier Street Health Center is dedicated to advancing health equity and delivering high-quality, culturally responsive care.
