Lunder 4 is a high volume, level one trauma unit as well as having scheduled surgeries. Lunder 4 incorporates the technologies of biplane hybrid suites for interventional radiology imaging, Cat scan, as well as intra-operative MRI.

JOB SUMMARY<br>
Working in collaboration with Neuro-intensivists, critical care Fellows, and Residents, the Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner provides high quality patient care to for neurology and neurosurgery patients in the in the Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.

The Neurocritical Care NP is a member of the multidisciplinary provider team with patient care and management responsibilities similar to those of the interns and junior residents who have month-long rotations in the Neuroscience ICU.<br>
<br>
PRINCIPAL DUTIES<br>
1. Elicits a detailed and accurate history, performs an appropriate physical examination, records and presents the pertinent data to the neurocritical care team.<br>
2. Attends, presents and actively participates in daily ICU rounds.<br>
3. Assists with procedures and pre- and postoperative care.<br>
4. Performs and/or prescribes routine laboratory and related studies, medications, and consultations as appropriate and standard for the Neuroscience ICU Service.<br>
5. Enters and signs admission, transfer, discharge, and preoperative orders into Order Entry.<br>
6. Assists in facilitating patient movement/flow through the hospital, particularly as it relates to the admission and discharge process.<br>
7. Serves as a mentor to APP staff in training, residents in training, students, and house staff, educating others while continuing to learn and expand one&rsquo;s own knowledge base.<br>
8. Continues to provide the highest standard of patient care, while incorporating measures that improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the department and hospital.<br>

Registered Nurse RN Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, Blood Donor Service, the staff nurse is responsible for assuring competent and professional nursing care to donors presenting to the Blood Donor Services, including delegation to and supervision of professional and non-professional clinical staff.<br>

The focus is on the safety of the donor and the safety of the blood collected. The staff nurse will be responsible for computer documentation of sample only, audits, merges, and final corrections of donor records.<br>

All final review and documentation of donor records and deferral information, as well as, compliance issue resolution will be the responsibility of the nurse.<br>

<ul><li>Assume the role of charge nurse in the center and on daily blood mobiles.</li><li>May be involved in new staff orientation, staff scheduling and reviewing/revising Standard Operating Procedures.</li><li>Have a global knowledge of operations.</li><li>Provides competent nursing care representing the highest of nursing standards based on specific principles and the use of accepted nursing practice.</li><li>Performs manual and automated blood collection.</li><li>Documents relevant and required donor information in accordance with all Regulatory Standards.</li><li>Collaborates with all involved medical professionals.
