The Fraud Prevention team protects Anthropic's payment and monetization surfaces from financial abuse &mdash; keeping fraud losses, dispute rates, and network monitoring exposure in check while preserving a smooth experience for legitimate customers. As a software engineer on this team, you will build the systems that make risk decisions in real time, manage the dispute and chargeback lifecycle, and detect monetization abuse across subscriptions, in-app purchases, and promotions. The Role</h2>
A backend-leaning Member of Technical Staff building the end-to-end systems that power production AI compliance workflows &mdash; high-performance infrastructure, reliability, and backend architecture supporting mission-critical automation.
What you'll be doing<ul><li>
Architect agent behaviors and build the backend systems behind production AI compliance workflows</li><li>
Build browser agents that navigate legacy systems, portals, and third-party platforms, interpreting unstructured data</li><li>
Process risk signals at the speed money moves &mdash; millions of transactions, sub-second decisions &mdash; via distributed inference, caching, queue orchestration, and self-healing data pipelines on AWS</li><li>
