Overview:

The ideal MDS Candidate is very detailed orientated, organized, self-motivated, while still being bedside for resident assessment and meeting with families. Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
How you Will make a Difference:
<ul><li>Collect information to complete the MDS using the medical record, bedside assessment, and staff, resident and/or family interviews.</li><li>
Participate in Daily PPS meetings, weekly Medicare meetings, and month end meetings to assure federal billing requirements are met. Review Plan of Care at least quarterly and with each Comprehensive Assessment to assure changes during the quarter are included and updated.</li><li>
Provide ongoing education of the RAI process to all interdisciplinary team members, direct and indirect caregivers, business office, etc. with all changes and as appropriate.</li></ul>
What you Need to make a Difference:
<ul><li>Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with required current state licensure.</li><li>
Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care setting preferred.</li><li>

Our diverse patient population includes but is not limited to CHF, Sickle Cell, Renal Failure, Vascular, Sepsis, COPD, Pneumonia, Osteomyelitis w/ Surgical Interventions, Wound Care and, an assortment of varying disease processes.
We one main Nursing Station and 7 Substations. Within those Substations you can visualize your patient assignment and govern your own work area. Equipment utilized on unit has EPIC integration, thus decreasing your time inputting data. We live out our &ldquo;no staff left behind&rdquo; motto and teamwork model by staying in contact with each other through the use of walkie talkies, including the management team. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire; Emergency Care - ACLS &amp; PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy &amp; Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
