Job Summary</b></p>
The MGH Palliative Care RN Navigator (per diem) for the Inpatient Palliative Care Inpatient Consult Service serves as a central coordinator in managing referrals, patient flow, and care transitions for patients with serious or complex illness. This role is responsible for receiving inpatient palliative care consult referrals from a variety of sources, including inpatient providers, outpatient clinics, and the emergency department, and collaborating with referring clinicians to obtain additional clinical and psychosocial information necessary to appropriately triage and prioritize referrals. Prioritization is based on symptom burden, acuity of illness, goals-of-care needs, and patient/family support requirements to ensure patients with the most urgent palliative care needs receive timely intervention. The RN Navigator facilitates communication and coordination among interdisciplinary teams and specialty services to promote continuity, consistency, and alignment of care plans across the continuum. The role may also include participation in interdisciplinary huddles with Emergency Department, Palliative Care, Case Management, and other clinical teams to assess patient appropriateness for established care pathways and program protocols. The RN Navigator educates clinicians and staff on pathway criteria, supports appropriate patient entry into designated programs, and monitors patient progression through the continuum of care to ensure timely placement into the next appropriate level of care or disposition setting. In collaboration with these clinical teams the RN Navigator gathers pertinent clinical and social information to determine the most appropriate service line, level of care, and care setting within the health system, helping to optimize patient flow, resource utilization, and patient-centered outcomes.<br>

This is a per diem, hybrid position, consisting of 8-hour day shifts during the week/on weekends. There may be opportunities for remote work.<br>

<ul><li>Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in inpatient care settings.</li><li>Strongly preferred experience in palliative care, oncology, geriatrics, emergency medicine, critical care, or other complex care populations.</li><li>Prior experience in nurse navigation, care coordination, case management, or transitions of care strongly preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage complex patient needs, prioritize referrals, and coordinate care across interdisciplinary teams.</li><li>Experience facilitating goals-of-care discussions, discharge planning, and resource coordination preferred.</li><li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills required.</li></ul><br>

Join a dynamic inpatient oncology team. Work within one of our two subspecialty groups with APPs that specialize in either 1) solid tumor, caring for an oncology patient population who are admitted for medical complications, new diagnoses, and treatment-related side effects, or 2) hematologic malignancies, caring for patients receiving bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration. You&rsquo;ll work closely with oncologists and an interdisciplinary team to deliver cutting-edge care on either our solid tumor or hematologic malignancy service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work in this invigorating and collaborative environment.

This APP will deliver direct care to outpatients with two days of the work week dedicated to working directly with the multiple myeloma team and two days dedicated to working in the procedure clinic. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care in the management of their disease and related issues as well as to develop expertise in the field.

<p>Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an experienced and culturally competent Senior Clinical Research Coordinator to provide operational, regulatory, and patient-facing leadership across a portfolio of assigned clinical trials. This position is embedded within the BIDMC Clinical Research Coordinator Core, a centralized resource serving investigators across departments and divisions throughout the medical center, and operating in affiliation with the institution&rsquo;s Clinical Research Center, a member of Harvard Catalyst &mdash; Harvard&rsquo;s Clinical and Translational Science Center. In this senior-level role, the successful candidate will serve as the primary operational lead for multiple concurrent clinical trials, ensuring rigorous compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations while maintaining a high standard of participant care and engagement. Core responsibilities include overseeing all phases of participant engagement &mdash; including recruitment, screening, enrollment, and study visits &mdash; managing regulatory documentation, and preparing and submitting regulatory and IRB submissions in accordance with applicable guidelines. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will also be responsible for guiding the day-to-day work of Clinical Research Coordinators, setting priorities, and monitoring protocol progress to ensure timelines and deliverables are met. </b></p><ul><li>Participates in hiring and training Clinical Research Coordinators. Monitors performance of staff. Contributes to annual performance evaluations of staff. Ensures that schedules, follow up and completion of research protocols progress as planned. Works with staff to resolve day-to-day problems. (essential)</li>
<li>Assists in the execution of new IRB applications and processes annual reviews for the IRB committees with regard to consents. May attend IRB meetings as required or address IRB questions regarding the protocols or consent forms. Working with the principal investigator and/or research nurse, submits protocols, amendments, notices, suspensions and terminations to the IRB for review and approval. (essential)</li>
<li>Interacts with patients prior to entering the study and throughout the entire treatment. Discusses and obtains informed consent with patients. Revises protocol consent form to comply with federal, state and IRB guidelines. (essential)</li>
<li>Assesses potential patients' eligibility for inclusion in a particular protocol based on contracts with physicians and nurses and knowledge of the protocol. Checks all eligibility or ineligibility criteria with the patients' medical record. Verifies information with clinical research nurse and/or principal investigator. <li>Monitors the occurrence of adverse events and reports them according to the guidelines of the FDA, sponsoring drug accompany (if applicable) and the IRB. May interact with sponsors and/or pharmaceutical company representatives. May prepare reports for pharmaceutical company monitors as well as routine audits for the FDA, if applicable. <li>Monitors strict adherence to protocols by physicians, nurses and patients. Reviews protocol requirements with physicians, nurses and fellows. Identifies and resolves problems with protocol compliance. Keeps principal investigator and research nurse aware of any problems. (essential)</li>
<li>Prepares records for audits. Interacts with industry or sponsoring organization representatives to review records at time of audits. Answers queries from sponsoring organization regarding ambiguous or incomplete data. Monitors quality and timeliness of data submissions. Ensures data extracts completed by staff are in compliance with protocols. (essential)</li>
<li>May assist physician investigator in reviewing data from research protocol in order to assess efficacy of therapy and make subsequent treatment decisions. Serves as a resource to physicians and nurses to locate information for special reports and treatment decisions. (essential)</li>
<li>Ensures compliance with funding agencies and assists principal investigator in the preparation of annual progress report of the grant. May oversee the application process for grants. Develops financial and statistical reports. Monitors expenses related to each protocol. May work to prepare budget. (essential)</li>

<p><b>Required Qualifications:</b></p>

<li>Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.</li>
<li>1-3 years of related work experience in a medical setting; clinical research setting preferred.</li>
