Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) is a specialized mental health treatment center serving adolescents and their families through Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team and provide high-quality virtual psychiatric care for teens.
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Position Summary</h3>
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide virtual psychiatric care to adolescent clients aged 13&ndash;17. This includes conducting Initial Psychiatric Evaluations (IPEs) within 72 hours of admission, prescribing medications as clinically appropriate, and educating families on diagnoses and treatment plans.
This role works independently with minimal supervision from the Medical Director and includes weekly collaboration with the clinical team during a designated team meeting.
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul><li>Conduct Initial Psychiatric Evaluations (IPEs) virtually for all new adolescent clients within 72 hours of program admission.</li><li>
Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric follow-up via telehealth.</li><li>
Prior to prescribing any medication, contact families directly to:<ul><li>
Review diagnosis</li><li>
Explain purpose of the medication</li><li>
Discuss potential side effects</li><li>
