About the role</b></p><p>
Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified and experienced <b>Senior Quantity Surveyor</b> to support the construction of heavy Civils and major drainage systems/Sewerage Networks projects in Qatar.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Key responsibilities, but not limited to:</b></p><ul><li>
The position is responsible for coordination of quantity surveying for preparation / reviewing of bills of quantities, rate analysis, and other commercial activities for the projects.</li><li>
The position is responsible for checking and certification of payments to the contractors.</li><li>
Contracts Management experience, including resolution of contractual matters.</li><li>
Experience in Contract types including: FIDIC and Government forms.</li><li>
Experience of working with Design-Bid-Build and Design and Build Contracts in particular or a working knowledge of the same.</li><li>
Provide recommendation in processing requests for variation, addendum, extension of time, claims etc. in accordance with Authority policies and procedures.</li><li>
Experience in preparatory construction project monthly valuation.</li><li>
Experience in assessing and evaluating Contractor&rsquo;s claims.</li><li>
Good documentation of records.</li><li>
Must have experience to review, analyze, and recommend to the Authority in a written report, the comparative cost estimates, man-hour estimates and proposed variation orders (PVOs).</li><li>
Experience to identify variances Cost together with reasons and proposed measures, if any, to rectify and/or mitigate the identified variances.</li><li>
He / She to develop and update monthly a cost system, which shows Project cash flow requirements; records of committed costs; anticipated costs remaining, and overall estimate cost to complete.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Candidate specifications</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in a Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or equivalent discipline from a recognized University to the approval of the Engineer.</li><li>
Experience in construction related quantity surveying, out of which 7 years in similar pump station and STW projects or equivalent.</li><li>
Experience must include sewage projects in Large Scale infrastructure utilities, pump station and STW construction.</li><li>
Must have ability to utilize computer technology to analyse data, maintain records, analyse financial data and generate reports.</li><li>
Must have good command of English both written and spoken.</li><li>
Computer skills are mandatory</li></ul><br>
