The University of Washington Department of Otolaryngology&ndash;Head and Neck Surgery is seeking one full-time ARNP or PA at the rank of Teaching Associate. The Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) deployed at UWMC Mountlake and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (FHCC), is a member of a tertiary care Otolaryngology-HNS team that includes 14 attending physicians, 25 residents, 7 APPS, as well as audiologists, speech language pathologists and over 50 support staff.
The candidate will be an integral member of our Head &amp; Neck Surgery and Oncology team. Clinically, the applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively in the outpatient environment including initial and ongoing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patient&rsquo;s medical status. This is a Teaching Associate position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head &amp; Neck Surgery. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The anticipated start date is May 1, 2026. Experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Review and validate e-Cert packages for components, subassemblies, and final assemblies</li><li>
Verify inspection records, test results, certifications, signatures, and approval workflows</li><li>
Identify, document, and communicate discrepancies or nonconformances to Quality and Engineering</li><li>
Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, QMS requirements, and build plans, including traceability</li><li>
Perform visual, dimensional, and physical inspections (incoming, in-process, final, and first article)</li><li>
Conduct surface plate inspections and lot sampling as required</li><li>
Use precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, and profilometers</li><li>
Inspect workmanship issues (burrs, scratches, fasteners, edge distance, damage)</li><li>
Verify corrective actions and rework completion</li><li>
Review shipping documentation and confirm proper packaging and preservation</li><li>

Required Qualifications</h3><ul><li>
3+ years of experience inspecting precision mechanical parts</li><li>
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&amp;T</li><li>

Comfortable working with digital systems and new software</li><li>
Excellent attention to detail and visual inspection skills</li><li>

UW Medical Center -Montlake Department of Otolaryngology &ndash; Head &amp; Neck Surgery (ENT) has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Division of Rhinology &amp; Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. This APP team member will be deployed full-time within the Division of Rhinology.
The Rhinology team includes four fellowship trained faculty surgeons and a dedicated clinical support staff (RN, coordinator, and medical assistant). Our team is a distinguished group of fellowship trained surgeons that practice the full spectrum of patient care related to conditions of the nose, sinuses and skull base. The APP will be fully integrated into a supportive care team model that strives for excellence within a rich and immersive clinical care environment. Our group emphasizes the values of team and mentorship as guiding principles in our mission to be the premier site of care for patients with nose and sinus conditions.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing services independently and collaboratively with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, as well as diagnosis and treatment of the patient&rsquo;s medical condition.
Position Details:
Full-time (1.0 CFTE), Outpatient Ambulatory APP, Day Shift, 40 hrs/week.
This APP will hold a Teaching Associate faculty position in the Department of Otolaryngology Head &amp; Neck Surgery (ENT). This faculty position has an annual service period of 12-months (July 1 - June 30). The anticipated start date is March 1, 2026. New graduates are welcome to apply.
Standards of Practice and Performance
1. Collaborate with an inter-professional team including surgeons, residents and fellows, nurses, medical assistants, and coordinators across a variety of medical and surgical sub-specialties to provide high quality patient- and family-centered care at the #1 Health Institution in the State of Washington (UW Medicine) and within a Nationally Ranked ENT Department.
2. Independently and collaboratively provide comprehensive care for patients with conditions that affect the nose, sinuses, and skull base. The APP will have a mix of independent and shared clinical deployment.
3. Deliver timely and problem-focused initial assessment of the patient&rsquo;s medical condition. Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic imaging in a timely manner. Provide management and follow-up care for patients with disorders of the nose, sinuses, and skull base. Candidates can expect direct mentorship with three fellowship trained sinus and skull base surgeons.
4. Participate as an integral member of the sinus and endoscopic skull base surgery team through the development of collaborative and innovative practices, and evaluation of patient care outcomes.
5. Communicate in a professional and respectful manner with all members of the health care team whether through verbal, email or secure text communication.
6. Participate in improvement projects focused on quality and operations. Participate in and support the rhinology division&rsquo;s education, research and quality initiatives.
7. Provide patient and/or family with health education, counseling and referrals to other health professionals and community resources as appropriate.
8. Attend and participate in the monthly rhinology faculty meetings.
9. Follow the UW Medical Center &ndash; Montlake&rsquo;s professional behavior policy and procedures.
Service APP Duties
1. Patient/family/provider communication about disease and treatment and how it relates to patient values, priorities, and goals of care across the care spectrum.
2. Provide ambulatory clinical care within the Rhinology clinic Monday-Friday. Evaluate patients within template clinic time and as needed.
3. Contribute to the plan of care and communicate directly with patients, families and the care team.
4. Promote a collaborative approach to decision making with appropriate interdisciplinary consultation.
5. Ensure appropriate and timely hand-off of patient care when absent from clinic.
Salary
The base salary range for this position will be: $10,834 - $14,150 per month ($130,008 - $169,800 annually)commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Qualifications
 
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/Associate program.
2. Current and valid state licensure as an ARNP or PA-C or foreign equivalent
3. Nationally Certified ARNP/PA-C with DEA.
4. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment.
5. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients.
Desirable Qualifications
1. Although previous ENT experience is preferable, over time candidates will be mentored and provided professional opportunities to gain knowledge and procedural skills.
2. Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record.
