<div></div><div><b>Summary:</b></div>
<div>Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will play a critical role in leading the day-to-day activities of the Accounting department. The <b>Assistant Controller </b>will take ownership of core accounting and reporting processes, and ensure financial duties are carried out effectively, accurately, and in a timely fashion.</div>
<div></div><div>The ideal candidate is someone who brings a positive attitude and strong business acumen to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This is a Hybrid role that requires at least 3 days/week onsite at our Irvine, CA. Corporate HQ.</div>
<div></div><div><b>What you will do:</b></div>
<ul><li>Oversee the day-to-day activities of the accounting department, including responsibility for the monthly close process across multiple locations</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting packages</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation and review of journal entries and key balance sheet account reconciliations</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies/procedures</li>
<li>Provide accounting guidance to internal teams (i.e. A/R, A/P, Procurement, Operations, IT, HR, Payroll, etc.) by understanding the underlying transactions and researching/interpreting the company accounting policies and procedures to ensure accordance with GAAP</li>
<li>Identify, implement and monitor scalable process improvements</li>
<li>Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior accountants</li>
<li>Analyze P&amp;L fluctuations and prepare a detailed monthly variance analysis, including identification of the underlying business drivers</li>
<li>Resolve challenging issues appropriately and communicate in a timely, clear and concise manner</li>
<li>Assist with acquisition integration into accounting systems, financial reporting and other areas as determined by Senior Management</li>
<li>Partner with the Corporate Controller and other relevant business partners to ensure all new business initiatives are appropriately accounted for and recorded correctly in the general ledger</li>
<li>Liaise with external auditors and prepare various audit schedules</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings</li>
<li>Manage and direct system implementations, upgrades, and improvement projects</li>
<li>Participate in special projects and other ad hoc duties as assigned</li>
</ul>
<div></div><div><b>Qualifications:</b></div>
<ul><li>Bachelor 's degree in Accounting with a minimum of seven years of relevant and progressive accounting experience</li>
<li>Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls experience</li>
<li>CPA and public accounting experience highly desirable</li>
<li>Supervisory experience managing a team, including remote workers</li>
<li>Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to operate in various software systems with advanced Microsoft Office skills</li>
<li>Experience with private equity held companies preferred; experience in a healthcare or healthcare services company a plus</li>
