This includes ensuring Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance within the group, including the assessment of and compliance to accounting procedures</li><li>Ensure that the most appropriate accounting controls and systems are in place at Red Dog Operations and takes action when they are not in order to protect the assets of the Operations and enable effective cost, financial and management reporting. Responsibilities include coordinating with external tax accountants for income tax preparation and auditors executing internal audits</li><li>Facilitate the annual budget process and ensures that an optimized budget for efficient operations is established and administered appropriately. Accurately collects and reports operating and capital project costs compared to budget and prepares timely forecasts for cost control purposes. This includes analyzing spending and identifying opportunities to reduce costs</li><li>Ensure that an optimized business plan is in place by providing financial analysis, modelling, advice and guidance through the Life of Mine and 5-year planning process</li><li>Improve the profitability of Red Dog operations through financial analysis activities to enable evaluation of alternative strategies. This includes analyzing cost data, preparing interpretive summaries and various &quot;what if&quot; case analyses, leading commercial analysis and negotiation for existing and new service and supply contracts</li><li>Coordinate the flow of accurate, timely and meaningful accounting information for Red Dog Operations to site, business-unit management teams and Teck Resources Corporate office for use in consolidated reports of Teck Base Metals. This includes preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, and presentations</li><li>Ensure maintaining excellent relationships and strong communications with NANA Regional Corporation, governments, banks and management both on and off the property.
