Mass General Cancer Center specializes in the care of patients with a variety of hematologic malignancies and solid tumor oncologic diagnoses. Our team has a demonstrated history of providing exquisite, evidence-based patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work in an invigorating and collaborative care environment. The medical oncology APP will provide direct and indirect care to ambulatory patients. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. Within this role, the advanced practice provider will partner with an attending oncologist(s) in the care of a consistent panel of patients though cross-coverage is expected.

The NP/PA is responsible for:<br>
<ul><li>Performs and records the patient history and physical examination and discusses findings with the collaborating team. Obtaining and coordinating laboratory results, charting of clinical findings in the EMR, orders, nursing instructions, and other required elements.</li><li>Utilizes advanced practice knowledge to identify, prevent or solve complex and/or recurring breast oncology patient care problems.</li><li>Follows and manages patients (in collaboration with MD) enhancing continuity of care.</li><li>Performs (oversees/assures completion of) specialized procedures particular to the select medical oncology population mutually agreed upon with collaborating physician.</li><li>Collaborates with staff and physicians to facilitate a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate resources and write appropriate orders improving access to care, establishing goals for the delivery of care to patients, participating in clinical research, and managing communications between physicians, patients, family, and staff.</li><li>Appreciates complex medication interactions.</li><li>Ensuring appropriate diagnostic procedures occur in a timely matter through careful coordination with other services such as radiology, facilitating various clinic appointments, communicating with patients regarding test results, and providing coverage for the team.</li><li>Educating patients regarding a variety of medical oncology issues associated with local or systemic therapy.</li><li>Indications and interpretation of radiology, pathology, and laboratory results.</li><li>Understands the complex medical environments of cancer patients including, but not limited to, those with advanced malignancy or organ dysfunction.</li><li>Writes orders which are in accord with current guidelines including antineoplastics.</li><li>Maintains and practices in accord with practice guidelines per state and hospital regulations.</li><li>Provides consultation to both nurses and physicians and serves as a resource to staff in area(s) of expertise.</li><li>Collaborates with staff and other health care professionals to meet staff and patient educational needs.</li><li>Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care.</li><li>Supports and conducts research efforts to advance knowledge and to promote research-based practice.</li><li>Responsible for own professional growth and maintenance of required credentials.</li></ul>

The Palliative Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a core member of the BWFH Department of Medicine and key constituent of the palliative care division. The APP is primarily responsible for serving as a palliative care consultant for inpatient hospital services- mainly medicine, critical care, and emergency department.
<br>

Per Diem candidates should have prior experience and training in palliative care. The palliative care APP will report to the BWFH Chief of Medicine and the BWFH Department of Medicine Director of APPs.<br>
<br>
The APP works closely with the palliative care physicians, inpatient physicians and advanced practice professionals, residents and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required. The mission, vision and core values of the Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Faulkner Hospital are incorporated into all areas of practice. The BWFH palliative APP will also be an integral partner with the other BWFH advanced practice professionals.<br>

Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), located in Boston, MA currently has an opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our cutting-edge Inpatient Oncology team, caring for inpatients with solid tumors or hematologic malignancies.
<br>
<br>
Join a dynamic inpatient oncology team. Work within one of our two subspecialty groups with APPs that specialize in either 1) solid tumor, caring for an oncology patient population who are admitted for medical complications, new diagnoses, and treatment-related side effects, or 2) hematologic malignancies, caring for patients receiving bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration. You&rsquo;ll work closely with oncologists and an interdisciplinary team to deliver cutting-edge care on either our solid tumor or hematologic malignancy service. Our APPs have the opportunity to be on the forefront of cancer care, collaborating with research teams to care for patients receiving first-in-human therapies as well as standard of care.

In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the hematology oncology PA serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. The Nephrology Physician APP will be a core member of the BWH Department of Medicine and key constituent of the Nephrology Division. The nature and scope of practice of the APP for Nephrology is to assess, diagnose and treat health problems of patients across the continuum of care, in collaboration with the Nephrology attendings. The practice will encompass outpatient care for patients with CKD and ESRD. Candidates for the position should have a strong interest in acute care nephrology and, ideally, experience and training in clinical nephrology.</p><p>
The nephrology APP will report to the BWH Clinic Director. The nephrology APP will work very closely with all BWH nephrology attending physicians to develop the necessary clinical skills in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.<br>

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>
Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.<br>
The APP works closely with the nephrology physicians, inpatient physicians and advanced practice professionals, residents and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care designed to meet the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required. Knowledge of current literature and a commitment to continued learning are also required. The mission, vision and core values of the Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Hospital (BWH) are incorporated into all areas of practice. The BWH nephrology APP will also be an integral partner with the other BWH advanced practice professionals.</p><p>
As a member of the BWH Nephrology Division, the PA shall be responsible for the following duties:</p><div><ul><li><br>

The MGB Cancer Institute is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Infusion Unit and ambulatory practices at Mass General Hospital in Boston, MA. The Infusion Unit APP Specialist will work in a recently developed role embedded within our adult infusion unit to serve as an infusion unit first responder, promote infusion services access and efficiency, provide oncology urgent care/symptom management and provide generalist coverage within our ambulatory hematologic malignancies programs for anticipated leaves and absences.

Join a large and supportive ambulatory oncology and infusion service line Advanced Practice Team in a role that specializes in the care of patients with a variety of medical oncology diagnoses. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider will promote a collaborative relationship between providers, professional nurses, research personnel and administrative staff, to provide safe, quality care in compliance with clinical trial protocols across the care continuum.

APP Responsibilities:

<ul><li>While on the adult infusion unit, the APP oversees the care of patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders, serves as a first responder for acute reactions and medical emergencies, partners with primary disease center providers to care for complex oncology patients awaiting hospital admission and collaborates with the Cancer Institute weekend first responder team to provide access for urgent evaluation and symptom management during off-hours.
</li><li>The NP/PA is also responsible for collaborative care of the patient with benign hematological disorders receiving care in the adult infusion unit.
</li><li>While in the cancer institute ambulatory practices the APP Specialist is responsible for the care of oncology patients in the outpatient setting, specializing in either solid tumor malignancies or hematologic malignancies in partnership with primary disease center APPs, physicians, practices nurses and administrative support team members.
</li><li>Flexibility in scheduling as this position may require weekend, holiday and evening coverage as well as variable weekday assignments.

The Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse who has acquired specialized knowledge and skills through completion of a nurse practitioner program. The practitioner has the credentials to function in an expanded nursing role and is responsible for the daily management of selected patients. About this role:<br>
The solid tumor hematology oncology NP provides comprehensive ambulatory care to one or more disease specific medical oncology patient populations. With an interdisciplinary team approach, this provider promotes a collaborative relationship between all providers, professional nurses and administrative staff, to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of solid tumor medical oncology patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and development and implementation of appropriate plans of care across the trajectory of illness for patients.<br>
In addition to providing direct and indirect patient care, the hematology oncology APP serves as a role model for professional advanced practice and participates in the professional development of the team through teaching, committee involvement or quality and safety initiatives. The hematology oncology APP will provide thorough, compassionate, culturally sensitive clinical care and should demonstrate operational flexibility and strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills in order to work effectively with other members of the team.<br>
