Positions at this level function with significant autonomy, defending upper-level felonies with very limited supervision. Positions in this classification also usually function in a lead capacity, assigned to oversee the work or caseload of a unit of attorneys or investigative and legal staffEssential Functions: The following duties are normal for this position. <b>Responsibilities and Opportunity Offered:</b> The Northern District of Georgia is currently seeking applicants for a permanent Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) opening in our Criminal Division, to be assigned to the Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section (MLARS).

The selected Criminal AUSA will initially be assigned to the Training Section. The AUSA will remain in the Training Section for a year or longer as they develop criminal case experience and trial skills. While the selected Criminal AUSA is in the Training Section, a portion of time also will be spent on assignments and training from MLARS in the areas of civil and criminal forfeiture and/or post-judgment debt collection practice. After successfully completing this training period, the AUSA will be permanently assigned to MLARS, which is described more fully below:

The primary goal of the Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section (MLARS) is to make certain that crime does not pay. To achieve that goal, MLARS focuses on, among other things, investigating and prosecuting high-stakes, large-scale money laundering matters, including matters with complex financial components and nationwide and international implications, overseeing forfeiture in all civil and criminal cases in the district and ensuring that debts and judgments owed to victims of crime and the United States are fully paid. AUSAs in this section have a varied caseload of civil and criminal matters and regularly work with personnel across the Criminal and Civil Divisions in the district, as well as with our various Federal, State and local law enforcement partners.

Under limited supervision, this position performs various procurement and contract administration duties. These duties include, but are not limited to the following:</p><p></p><ul><li><br>
 Assists in the development of documents such as Request for Quotes (RFQs), Sole Source and Request for Proposals (RFPs). Creates and posts solicitation in Team Georgia Marketplace and/or the Georgia Procurement Registry. Participates in the vendor response evaluation process. Conducts analysis of vendor responses.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br>
 Assists Divisions/Hospitals/Offices in writing bid specifications for procurement of services, goods and commodities.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br>
 Collaborates with Budget and Program Offices to determine appropriate solicitation development decisions.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br>
 Initiates and manages the bid process according to established procedures and professional standards.</li></ul><p></p><ul><li><br>
 Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>

GCPM- Georgia Certified Purchasing Manager</p><p><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li> 3 &ndash; 5 years procurement and /or contracting experience in the public sector</li><li> 2+ year PeopleSoft Financials software experience</li><li> Experience with posting to the Georgia Procurement Registry</li><li> GCPM - Georgia Certified Purchasing Manager</li></ul><p><b>

</p><div>Associate degree in accounting or business or a directly related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience in a procurement environment, which included one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or Technical diploma in accounting or business from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of job-related experience in a procurement environment which included one (1) year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Procurement Agent 3 (FEP022) or position equivalent.
