<div>The Birnbaum lab at NYU Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Postdoctoral Associate. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.
This position is for a post-PhD trainee preparing for a research scientist career path. The planned position will provide a transition to career independence through the development of professional skills; supervision by senior scientist incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and publication of research findings/scholarship during postdoc appointment period.
Projects in the lab focus on the molecular mechanisms of plant cell regeneration and cell-cell signaling. The project will combine plant genetics and genomics with whole-genome single-cell screening approaches developed in the lab. The successful candidate will also develop expertise in live-cell light sheet microscopy and computational analysis, with access to a high-performance computing cluster configured for machine learning and large-scale structural prediction using AlphaFold. Research in the lab spans three plant systems &mdash; Arabidopsis, maize, and sorghum &mdash; offering a broad comparative perspective on regeneration biology.

Duties include: design and develop data solutions using industry leading tools, technologies and best practices to profile data and develop efficient ingestion by sourcing data from PBM, Specialty, Retail, and/or HealthCare business; develop advanced algorithms and statistical predictive models to evaluate scenarios and provide usable information on health metrics and potential future outcomes; extract and manipulate data from multiple large data sources and deliver predictive models that inform solutions for in-house teams (i.e. pharmacy pricing, medical costs, risk scores, onboarding) and customer engagement across critical journeys (i.e. calories, heart rate, breast cancer, maternity); utilize strong programming skills to explore, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms and solve complex business problems; support deployment of insights across multiple channels and work on mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, and statistical analyses. Requirements: Master&rsquo;s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in 
each of the following: 
<ul><li>R, Python, or SQL;</li><li>Visualization tools, including PowerBI or Tableau;</li><li>&ldquo;Big data&rdquo; platforms including Hadoop (Azure, GCP, or AWS) and Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Hbase, Pig, or NoSQL;</li><li>Translating analytical problems into structured programs using PySpark, Scala, PL/SQL or Teradata BTEQ;</li><li>Machine Learning or NLP (Scikit-Learn, SpaCity, Pytorch, or Spark NLP);</li><li>Data analytics on large data sets in healthcare, business, or retail sector;</li><li>Marketing analytics, clinical trials, or health research;</li><li>Containerized services, storage, and workspace management;</li><li>Featuring engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, distributed model training, and supervised and unsupervised learning implementation; and</li><li>Qualitative analysis techniques, including clustering, repression, and pattern recognition.</li></ul> 
Pay Range: $111240.00/year to $222480.00/year.</div>
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company&rsquo;s equity award program.
