The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is currently seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician 1 to work in Miami. The Pharmacist Technician 1 prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. Assists the Pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions, price-checking, and restocking of drugs.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
<ul><li>Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
</li><li>Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
</li><li>Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
</li><li>Refers providers&rsquo; calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.
</li><li>Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.
</li><li>Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
