Positions across the Civil Enforcement Program may be filled in response to this ad. In particular:
 
Anti-Monopoly and Collusion Enforcement Section enforces antitrust laws in civil nonmerger matters across a broad range of industries, with recent experience in advertising technology, smartphones, and consumer meat products. ACE focuses on high priority conduct matters to ensure that the statutory timing demands of merger cases do not overtake the Division’s ability to move forward with key civil conduct investigations and litigations.
 
Defense, Industrials, and Aerospace Section enforces antitrust laws in the defense, avionics and aeronautics, industrial equipment, metals and mining, and waste industries.
 
Financial Services, Financial Technology, and Banking Section enforces antitrust laws in the financial, banking, real estate, ticket distribution, and publishing industries.
 
Healthcare and Consumer Products Section enforces antitrust laws in healthcare and consumer products, including apparel, appliances, beer, cosmetics, dairy, and paper among others. Protecting competition in healthcare is one of the Division’s top priorities. As part of its commitment to enforcement in this crucial industry, the Division seeks attorneys with an interest and/or background in healthcare issues.
 
Media, Entertainment, and Communications Section enforces antitrust laws in the broadcast media, television and film production and distribution, streaming entertainment services, professional and amateur sports, and telecommunications industries.
 
Technology and Digital Platforms Section enforces antitrust laws in internet-related businesses, gig economy platforms, and computer hardware and software industries.
 
Transportation, Energy, and Agriculture Section enforces antitrust laws in the agricultural, aviation, shipping, electricity, oil field services, hotel, restaurant, and travel services industries. Protecting competition in agriculture markets is one of the Division’s top priorities.

Job Description
 
Trial attorneys in the Division’s Civil Enforcement Program are responsible for a wide range of investigative, litigation, and trial work. They may review mergers, conduct pre-complaint investigations, engage in post-complaint litigation, and participate in trials. Trial attorneys are also frequently responsible for building relationships with other federal, state, and international enforcers and for advocacy to ensure innovative and competitive marketplaces. Trial attorneys in the Civil Enforcement Program frequently grapple with challenging cases involving complex technologies, rapidly changing industries, rising barriers to entry, and evolving regulatory landscapes.
 
Qualifications

Job Description
 
Duties of a Deputy Director, include: 
Supervising outreach, case screening and development, investigations, settlement negotiations and enforcement, and complex litigation, including discovery, motion practice, injunction hearings, trials, and post-judgment proceedings;
 Reviewing, editing, and approving substantive written work product;
 Collaborating with the management team to implement and refine enforcement strategies and priorities;
 Coordinating with federal agencies and other DOJ components to ensure effective information sharing and case referrals; and
 Performing administrative and leadership responsibilities, including evaluating attorneys and staff and managing special projects assigned by leadership.
 
The Second Amendment Section is charged with enforcing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding American citizens. The Section investigates alleged patterns or practices of Second Amendment infringement by law enforcement, and files statements of interest when cases in litigation affect the interests of the United States.
 
The Appellate Section works with the Division's trial sections to represent the United States in civil rights cases in the federal courts of appeals. Many of the Section's cases are appeals from district court judgments in cases originally handled by the Division's trial sections.
 
The Criminal Section, one of the oldest of the Civil Rights Division's sections, enforces federal criminal laws that date to the post-Civil War Reconstruction Era.
 
The Disability Rights Section works to achieve equal opportunity for people with disabilities by implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). DRS has a central role in enforcement, regulation, and technical assistance under the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 504).
 
The Educational Opportunities Section enforces Titles IV and VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, the ADA, Section 504, and the Equal Educational Opportunities Act of 1974.
 
The Employment Litigation Section enforces Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other federal laws prohibiting discriminatory employment practices against state and local government employers, and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 against non-federal employers.

The Special Litigation Section protects the civil rights of people in state or local institutions; of individuals with disabilities to receive services in community settings; of people who interact with state or local law enforcement; of youth involved in the juvenile justice system; of people to have safe access to places of religious worship and reproductive health clinics; and of people to practice their religion while confined to state and local institutions.
 
The Voting Section enforces the civil provisions of federal statutes designed to safeguard the right to vote of all American citizens, including the Voting Rights Act, Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, National Voter Registration Act, Help America Vote Act, and Civil Rights Acts.
 
Qualifications
 
Required Qualifications: 
Applicants must possess a J.D. from an American Bar Association accredited law school, be an active member of the bar in good standing (any jurisdiction) and possess a minimum of six (6) years of post-professional law degree experience. Summary
The Legal Executive Assistant (LEA), working in collaboration with and in support of the firm&rsquo;s strategic initiatives , supports lawyers by managing the daily functions of an attorney's practice, allowing them to concentrate on developing and sustaining their practice. The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia is accepting applications for attorneys to serve as Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in the Office's Superior Court Division. The Superior Court Division is the largest division in the Office. It has primary responsibility for the prosecution of criminal cases in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and handles the highest volume of felony and misdemeanor cases prosecuted by the Office. Types of cases include, but are not limited to, homicides, sexual assaults, carjackings, kidnappings, robberies, burglaries, domestic violence, and narcotics and weapons possession.
 
AUSAs must possess the qualities necessary to excel in their mission to enforce the criminal laws of the District of Columbia and the United States. These qualities include advocacy and communication skills; superior writing and analytical skills; the ability to manage a high-volume docket; and dedication to duty. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work in a supportive and professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, investigative agencies, witnesses, and crime victims. They must also demonstrate their willingness to meet the high ethical standards expected of prosecutors in their interactions with opposing counsel and the courts.
 
The Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Career Development Program implemented by the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia provides new AUSAs with rotational work assignments in different (and progressively more complex) legal program areas of the Office for an approximate four-year duration. Rotations through different areas of litigation provide the new AUSA opportunities to develop skills and competencies that will enhance their ability to contribute to the important mission of the United States Attorney's Office to enforce federal law and administer justice in the United States.
 
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Conditions of employment
 
USAO Residency Requirement: Assistant United States Attorneys must reside in the district to which appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C. 545 for district specific information.
 
Security Requirements: Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.

Qualifications
 
Required Qualifications: 
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree (or equivalent), and be an active member in good standing of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction)
 
You must be a United States Citizen or National.
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
Litigation experience and a minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Applicants must possess superior communication and advocacy skills; exhibit exceptional research and writing ability; perform thorough legal and factual analysis; demonstrate an ability to work well with others; exercise good judgment; and function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment.

Salary Information: This is an excepted service attorney appointment under an Administrative Determined pay scale. Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $84,601 to $195,100 which includes 33.94% locality pay.
