As a CLT 2, you will perform various routine and complex specialized laboratory processes, prepare and process specimens, and support the overall operation of the clinical laboratory. You may also be assigned special projects that support the development of new processes and workflows. What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health 
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. 
 
Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy.</div><div>

Responsibilities
Under the immediate direction of a qualified licensed Staff Pharmacist, you will be trained to draw, dispense, and package radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. Many of your duties will include:<ul><li>
Prepare prescriptions by typing labels and obtain Staff Pharmacist approval</li><li>
Draw doses into either a syringe or vial</li><li>
Perform quality assurance tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with Federal, State, Company and manufacturer's guidelines.</li><li>
Receive, document, and store incoming and outgoing pharmaceuticals according to the Department of Transportation and Company guidelines</li><li>
Maintain computer inventory and records to ensure proper utilization of materials and accounting for Rx drugs</li><li>
Assist and/or perform in the labeling of blood cell products</li><li>
Perform general laboratory and facility clean up</li><li>
May perform clerical and administrative services including maintenance of daily records, preparation of receipts, report preparation, and maintenance of billing records</li><li>
Make deliveries to accounts with company vehicles as needed</li><li>
Speak with customers and address questions and/or concerns via telephone</li><li>
Works under close supervision. All work is reviewed for accuracy. Any deviations from the norm are approved by the supervisor before proceeding</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>
High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred</li><li>
WA State Pharmacy Technician license required</li><li>
National Pharmacy Technician certification required</li><li>

The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine &amp; Pathology (DLMP) in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 2 with the Microbiology Team at the University of Washington Medical Center &ndash; Montlake.
CLT 2s in the Microbiology Laboratory are experienced specimen processors that provide excellent patient care by performing inventory, ordering, receiving, and quality control on supplies.

</li><li>Monday to Friday with rotating weekends and holidays
</li><li>Day shift on Monday to Friday. Weekends and holiday may vary
</li></ul>What you&rsquo;ll contribute:
<ul><li>Uses hc1 to track and resolve problems regarding specimen quality, including labeling, stability and tube type. Refers technical questions to AD Medical Laboratory Scientist or Setup Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead.
</li><li>Monitors training of new employees and students and assesses status at the completion of the training.
</li><li>Performs or guides other qualified employees in doing direct observations for annual competency assessments.
</li><li>Performs blood culture volume monitoring quarterly and prepares the data to be sent to responsible areas.
</li><li>Inventories reagents in setup.
</li><li>Sets up quality control on media or for reagents when the CLT Lead is not available.

</li></ul>Also performs CLT 1 duties:
<ul><li>Possesses working knowledge of the laboratory information system including accessioning test requests, tracking specimens and looking up results.
</li><li>Batches and un-batches specimens from other divisions and transports them appropriately.
</li><li>Operates the WASP to process approved specimens, performs daily and monthly maintenance and troubleshoot errors.
</li><li>Processes bacterial and fungal cultures for all specimen types
</li><li>Prepares and stains direct smears including, but not limited to, Gram stains, KOH preps, Trichromes, and malaria preps.
</li><li>Answers phone calls and directs questions to appropriate personnel.
</li><li>Interacts with health care providers and responds to questions concerning specimens in a professional manner.
</li><li>Trouble shoots specimen issues and enters cases in hc1.
</li><li>Follows procedures and knows where to find information in Media Lab.
</li><li>Collects and cleans glassware, collects and disposes of biological waste, and unpacks supplies and reagents.
</li><li>Possess working knowledge of the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, such as the biological safety cabinet, centrifuges, cytocentrifuges, stomachers, fume hoods, incubators, dry baths, refrigerators and freezers.
</li><li>Sets up bacterial susceptibility testing including disk diffusion, gradient strips and microtiter panels.
</li><li>Communicates with co-workers so that specimen processing flows smoothly through breaks and between shifts.
