As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing care and delegated activities of treatment to patients. The PCT will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN) for patients with renal failure.</p>

What you'll be doing</i></b></p>

Patient care.</b> You will work directly with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating treatment, monitoring patients during treatment, terminating treatment, and collecting patient blood samples per physician orders.</p>
<p><b>
Technician Duties.</b> You will ensure quality comes first by preparing machines for hemodialysis treatments, cleaning and disinfecting machines after treatment, and conducting machine safety checks and logging results for quality control, ensuring all protocols and regulations are followed.</p>
<p><b>
Safety and Quality.</b> You will use appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment. Working under the supervision of a Charge Nurse, you will adhere to all company policies, procedures, and state/federal laws and regulations. You will participate in all required staff meetings and continuing education offerings.</p><p></p><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b><i>

<li>Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter.

The Sr. Patient Care Tech Student Extern works under the direction of Registered Nurse. Performs direct and indirect patient care. Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.</li><li>
Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.</li><li>
Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for warehouse overages (merchandise received, but not billed), shortages (merchandise billed, but not received), order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.</li><li>
May assist pharmacist in administering clinical services including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other clinical services as required; assists pharmacy staff in coordination of clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.</li><li>
Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers, by medical provider detailing and outreach to health groups, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for enhancing growth opportunities.</li><li>
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance.</li><li>
Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.</li><li>

About the Role:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>
Receive goods and check against purchasing records. Enter receipts returns and distributions into the organization's computerized inventory system following defined processes and procedures. Maintain invoicing for all drug and supply accounts</li><li>
Cooperation/ coordination with operations to maintain good communication understanding of business needs and provide support as needed.</li><li>
Sort and stock inventory on shelves every day when orders are received.</li><li>
Periodically coordinate review of inventory for expired damaged or overstocked medications and coordinate disposal or return through designated channels</li><li>
Ensure the accuracy of computerized inventory records. Perform cycle counts on a regular basis to validate physical inventoried items against system records. Investigate variances and report on findings to management.</li><li>
Conduct periodic physical inventories in compliance with standards set by management.</li><li>
Prepare the pharmacy department for physical inventory by updating shelf locations/labels printing and notating count sheets and organizing drug products by lot number. Enter completed inventory count into the database and investigate discrepancies.</li><li>
Work with accounting or manager to resolve all reconciliation issues as they arise</li><li>
Oversee required responses to and management of medication recall notifications in conjunction with the pharmacy manager.</li><li>
Participate and perform other duties as assigned by leadership</li><li>
