The Research Assistant (RA) will support the Boston Hypertension Equity Alliance in Treatment (BHEAT) study, a new clinical trial investigating health system strategies to improve hypertension management in safety net primary care clinics throughout Boston. BHEAT is funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and includes a focus on reducing disparities in hypertension treatment and outcomes.</p><p></p><p>
The RA will be a key member of a team focused on daily monitoring and progress of the trial, and will interact with study investigators, project managers, clinical staff, and other research staff. Duties may include a variety of research support tasks, which will provide experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials, health systems research, and health disparities research. The research team prioritizes a collaborative and collegial environment as well as emphasizing professional development opportunities.</p><p></p><p><b>
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><ul>

Partner with collaborators and study staff on oversight of studies, standard operating procedure development and review, and data quality assurance</p></li>

The Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is recruiting a part-time academic surgical pathologist with subspecialty expertise in breast pathology. BIDMC is a tertiary care facility with 743 licensed beds and an internationally renowned principal teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School with NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center-affiliated Cancer Center.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
The BIDMC Department of Pathology has launched new strategic initiatives in cutting-edge Precision Diagnostics (including cancer genomics, multiplex biomarker theranostics, and computational/digital pathology). In addition, the department will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England&rsquo;s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration would bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
We are looking for an active, energetic, team-oriented faculty member to help us shape our future agenda and engage in areas that are being actively developed.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
The successful candidate will join a team of faculty, residents, and fellows to provide world-class diagnostics at BIDMC. Additionally, the candidate will support the vibrant training programs, including pathology residency program, and surgical pathology fellowship programs.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
Applicants must be board certified in Pathology (AP or AP/CP).</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
The candidate will be appointed to the part-time faculty of Harvard Medical School at an academic rank (Instructor, Assistant Professor or Professor) commensurate with experience.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>

Job Summary</b></p><p>
The Opening Legal Assistant processes, reviews, and updates all information provided and/or obtained at case inception, focusing on the client&rsquo;s initial medical treatment, locating insurance information, requesting supporting documents, and placing all parties on notice.</p><p><b>
Responsibilities and Duties</b></p><ul><li>
Process and send representation letters to parties involved in the case, e.g., private attorneys, insurance companies, and medical providers.</li><li>
Request supporting documents from all facilities in which a service was provided. i.e., Hospitals, Fire rescue, treating facilities, and Specialist visits.</li><li>
Establish claims with insurance parties involved, i.e., Liability insurance and PIP insurance.</li><li>
Review and process correspondence received regarding the case file.</li><li>
Research and locate all possible Defendants and Insurance coverage.</li><li>
Be the backup to the Front Desk.</li><li>
Additional administrative duties assigned as needed.</li></ul><p><b>
Qualifications and Skills</b></p><ul><li>
Excellent customer service skills.</li><li>
Detailed oriented.</li><li>
Comfortable working with computer programs.</li><li>
Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once.</li><li>
Prior experience is preferred but not required.</li><li>
