The Mass General Cancer Center Protocol Office (CCPO) conducts multi-phase studies in the outpatient setting at the MGH Cancer Center.<br>

The Research Nurse Coordinator play a vital role in supporting clinical trials and advancing innovative oncology. treatments. In this position, you will manage study protocols and work on activating new complex protocols, support your fellow research nurse reviewers, clinical research coordinators, physicians, advanced practice providers, and regulatory team members.<br>
You will be instrumental in translating groundbreaking clinical trial concepts into practical care for patients. By building strong relationships with patients, you&rsquo;ll provide comprehensive education, triage, support, and guidance to help them prepare for and navigate the clinical trial experience, making a meaningful impact on cancer care and outcomes!<br>
The ideal candidate has a minimum of two years&rsquo; RN experience. Oncology and/or Research nursing experience preferred.<br>
CCPO Research Nurses are responsible for screening and enrolling patients for trials, patient education, triage phone support for patients in between treatment visits, symptom management, expert knowledge of protocols, meticulous documentation, and strong advocacy for patients while they are on trial.<br>
CCPO Research nurses work closely with Infusion RNs, APPs and Physicians within the Cancer Center to support patients on clinical trials and to meticulously adhere to the protocol.<br>
Research RNs support the organizational mission and the Cancer Center investment in clinical research and making clinical trials accessible to more patients from diverse and underserved communities.<br>

Supported by a Nursing Director, Nurse Managers and Nursing Practice Specialists, this team is responsible for establishing standards of care, initiating quality improvement projects, and setting and supporting the overall tone for excellent patient care.<br>

Acts as a resource to the multi-disciplinary care team related to protocol specifications such as administration guidelines for investigational agents.<br>
<br>
Documents research nurse encounters in the medical record including patient education, required protocol assessments including adverse events, oral study drug adherence, protocol deviations, phone encounters and follow-up.<br>

The Diabetes Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital seeks a highly motivated individual to assume the position of Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) I. This individual will work as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team of diabetes doctors, nurses, and educators under the general supervision of the Nurse Director. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with research participants, nurses, and physicians and learn about clinical research in a large academic center.<br>

The research coordinator&rsquo;s primary responsibility in the MGH Diabetes Research Center will be working on studies related to pregnancy and/or diabetes including those that use oral glucose tolerance testing and continuous glucose monitoring and collect biospecimens. The research coordinator will recruit participants and interact with pregnant women and their newborns. The research coordinator will also assist the investigators with academic tasks such as literature review and scientific writing and with operational tasks such as managing sample inventory and organizing meetings. The CRC will receive direct mentorship from the PI (Dr. Camille E. Powe) as well as from an interdisciplinary group of physicians, scientists, and clinical research professionals with expertise in Endocrinology, Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Clinical Trials.

NURSE PRACTITIONER MS - PER DIEM Rotating Shift - Cardiac Electrophysiology<br>

About this job:<br>
The Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Nurse Practitioner (NP) will practice in three settings: inpatient, outpatient/ambulatory, and procedural settings. The NP will be involved in all aspects of care with the primary goal of ensuring the effective delivery of care to patients.<br>
<br>
Inpatient and peri-procedural care<br>
<ul><li>The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for obtaining and coordinating the following general items: history and physical, laboratory results, charting of clinical findings, registry documentation, orders, sedation assessment, nursing instructions, consent, and other required elements. The NP, in collaboration with the Laboratory Flow Managers, may be asked to help coordinate admissions and transfers to the hospital. The NP will perform pre-procedure assessments in the recovery room/holding area or outpatient setting as needed.</li><li>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be knowledgeable about the Cardiac Electrophysiology Laboratory scheduling, procedure room turnover and availability of resources. They will be called upon to manage patients after their procedures (as appropriate and in collaboration with the consult Fellow) while they await transfer to patient floor or discharge. The NP will assist in family liaison.</li><li>Following procedures, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will manage vascular access, monitor and manage arrhythmias, pacing, drug therapy, O2 therapy, and other non-cardiac medications, under the supervision of the attending physician. The NP will assist in the evaluation and management of clinical events such as fever, altered hemodynamics, CHF, pulmonary complications, abrupt vessel closure, arrhythmias, access site complications and others. The NP will assist in transfers to and from the intensive care units.</li><li>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will perform patient education regarding discharge including preventive care and risk factor reduction. They will write discharge orders, prescriptions and complete discharge summaries in collaboration with the attending physician. The NP will act as a liaison between the attending cardiologist and family members and will schedule follow-up care as necessary, including VNA if needed.</li></ul><br>
Ambulatory care<br>
<ul><li>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will collaborate with the team in preparing patients for admissions/procedures. Educate patients regarding a variety of electrophysiology treatments and procedures. Works collaboratively with nursing/clinic staff to assist in the care of patients. This includes, but is not limited to: symptom management, evaluation and management, prescription writing, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies with review by attending MD, patient calls and questions related to electrophysiology clinical care. The NP will provide care via in person clinic visits, virtual clinic visits, and telehealth.</li></ul>
Procedural care<br>
<ul><li>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be responsible for many aspects of care under the supervision of the attending physician, including but not limited to: cardioversions, suturing, cardiac subcutaneous monitor implant/explant, first assisting during diagnostic EP studies/ablations, device implantation and research procedures performed in the EP laboratory, OR and other clinical areas, as well as fluid and electrolyte management, nutrition, pain management, transfusion therapy, anticoagulation management, education, and post-discharge planning.</li></ul><br>
General/Working Conditions<br>
<ul><li>The Nurse Practitioner (NP) participates in departmental and organizational committees and programs as appropriate and attends all required meetings, in-services, and professional trainings. Remains actively involved in continuing education with a commitment to self and departmental growth. Identifies areas for professional growth. Formulates professional goals, objectives and methods for accomplishing these. Supports initiatives within BWH, the Department of Medicine and the Cardiovascular Division.</li><li>Work settings may include ambulatory clinics and treatment rooms, inpatient areas, intensive care units, operating rooms, and/or procedural areas. There may be loud noises, noxious odors, and temperature extremes. A large portion of the workday may be spent either standing or walking and the position may require heavy lifting of equipment and patients.</li></ul>

Working in collaboration with Neuro-intensivists, critical care Fellows, and Residents, the Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner provides high quality patient care to for neurology and neurosurgery patients in the in the Brigham and Women&rsquo;s Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit.

The Neurocritical Care NP is a member of the multidisciplinary provider team with patient care and management responsibilities similar to those of the interns and junior residents who have month-long rotations in the Neuroscience ICU.<br>

1. Elicits a detailed and accurate history, performs an appropriate physical examination, records and presents the pertinent data to the neurocritical care team.<br>
2. Attends, presents and actively participates in daily ICU rounds.<br>

4. Performs and/or prescribes routine laboratory and related studies, medications, and consultations as appropriate and standard for the Neuroscience ICU Service.<br>

Job Summary</b></p>
The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The Registered Nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor.<br>
