<li>Performs Clinical tests to discover functional limitations and the potential of restoration and, in accordance with Physician&rsquo;s orders, develops a Plan of Care with restorative and maintenance goals to meet identified needs.</li>
<li>Instructs Patients, Families, Caregivers, and other health team personnel in the use of assistive modalities and appropriate Physical Therapy procedures.</li>
<li>Observes, records and reports to the Authorized Medical Practitioner and Agency Personnel, the Patient&rsquo;s reaction to treatment, and any changes in the Patient&rsquo;s condition.</li>
<li>Works with the health team to shorten the Patient&rsquo;s recovery from illness and incorporate the management of residual disability.</li>
<li>Communicates with the Nurse at least every two (2) weeks to discuss the Patient&rsquo;s progress. Telephones the Agency immediately with any information that will influence or change the provision of services including any unusual situations observed during the course of service.
</li><li>Re-evaluates patient as needed to detect progress attained and completes a written progress report for the Patient&rsquo;s record containing Patient&rsquo;s progress, continues treatment plan, goals, frequency of visits, and outcomes of care provided.</li>
<li>Identifies problems with the operation and safety of equipment laces in the Patient&rsquo;s home and insures follow-up by the appropriate vendor and/or notifies the Agency to follow-up.</li>

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. 
 
The NYU Acute Respiratory Failure and Sepsis Precision Interventions (ASPIRE) Trials Program seeks a full-time Research Data Associate to support several clinical studies. Our Trials Program conducts single- and multi-center clinical trials and cohort studies to advance understanding and improve care of patients with respiratory failure, pneumonia, and sepsis. The overarching theme of our research is to develop strategies to individualize clinical support to maximize end-organ protection and improve patient outcomes.

The RDA will assist in the daily study-related activities of multiple studies and clinical trials involving patients in the ICUs and other inpatient units at NYU-affiliated hospitals. RDA must be comfortable working with critically ill adult patients on life support, the population of interest for most of the studies, and interacting with their family members. RDA must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively within a multiprofessional team that includes physicians, pharmacists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and research staff. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and professionalism are essential to foster collaboration and ensure efficient trial operations. The ability to actively listen, resolve conflicts constructively, and contribute to shared decision-making will be critical to success in this role. 


Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Interacts with patient/subject and families in a courteous and professional manner. Collaborates with various personnel that may be involved in assisting with specific aspects in the study.</li>
<li>Gathers, Properly Packages, Stores and Transfers Slides, Samples and Other Important Materials. Coordinates the shipment and transfer of varied types of materials among the various departments and labs.</li>
<li>May complete assessments on study subjects/patients per protocol (with proper training); continue to follow-through with items and patients as part of research study. May (if proper training has occurred) draw patients/subjects blood, perform EKG, and or take vital signs. May be required to travel to study initiation (that is, where sponsor teaches protocol to PI and CRC).</li>
<li>Ensures protocol compliance. Follows standard steps regarding eligibility criteria, follow-up process and documentation.</li>
<li>Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures of the host institution where the study is being conducted, including the regulatory requirements such as IRB and other approvals if necessary.</li>
<li>Under supervision, acts as an internal auditor during quarterly internal audits for other studies, is aware of study regulatory status and keeps an up to date copy of regulatory documents.</li>
<li>Initiates and continues regular contact with patients; encourages visit reminders and compliance to research; ensures contact with patients and their families is courteous, effective, professional and cooperative.</li>
<li>Utilizes established methodologies to collect patient information for the research project(s); gathers and compiles data, statistics and other materials as needed. Inputs clinical and non-clinical data into the database and or case report forms. With guideance, extracts data for publications, or provides data collection from outside physicians offices. May perform library searches and retrieve reference materials from various sources; request articles from medical journals.</li>
<li>Compiles data and assists in consolidating data for presentation to sponsoring and regulatory agencies. Reviews data with supervisor and then provides reports to all parties (e.g., data and safety monitoring committee, the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, etc.) on the progress of the study.</li>
<li>Recruits and the screens of potential patients/subjects for eligibility to the study.</li></ul> 


Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: 
Perform data extraction from medical records for clinical trials and cohort studies 
Perform bedside patient assessments and examinations for research, including sedation depth, non-verbal pain assessment, and delirium assessment, among other assessments 
Perform bedside data collection for critically ill adult patients, including those with pneumonia and viral respiratory infections 
Obtain biological specimens for enrolled study participants, including but not limited to venous and arterial blood samples, nasal or oropharyngeal respiratory swabs, airway samples (sputum, breath condensate, tracheal aspirate), and urine/stool samples as needed for study protocols
 
Assist with initiating and adjusting study-related devices and monitors according to study protocol, in collaboration with the clinical and research teams where applicable 
Perform other bedside procedures as required by study protocol 
Assist with performing protein biomarker measurements with ELISA and multi-analyte platforms under supervision of the research laboratory manager 
Receive, label, process, and log unique and irreplaceable human biospecimen samples 
Prepare biospecimen collection kits and other materials for NYU and other sites participating in our clinical studies 
Conduct long-term follow-up phone questionnaires of study participants 
Maintain rigorous documentation for study records, including performing office and clerical duties as needed 


Minimum Qualifications: 
Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills. 


Preferred Qualifications: 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education

Prior experience working with patients in a hospital setting

Cross-Functional Collaboration<ul><li>
Partner with Product, Technology, Data, Editorial, Operations, Learning &amp; Development, Legal, Security, and Governance teams within the News Group.</li><li>
Align AI adoption efforts with enterprise standards, product roadmaps, and responsible AI requirements.</li><li>
Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams within the News Group.</li></ul>
Required AI Expertise
Candidates should demonstrate deep hands-on practical knowledge of:<ul><li>
Generative AI applications for productivity, research, communication, content creation, planning, and analysis.</li><li>
Advanced prompting techniques and workflow design.</li><li>
AI-enabled research, knowledge management, and collaboration workflows.</li><li>
AI-assisted content, creative, editorial, data, and operational use cases.</li><li>
Automation and emerging agentic AI capabilities.</li><li>
Enterprise AI considerations including privacy, governance, security, responsible use, copyright, and risk management.</li><li>
Major enterprise AI platforms including Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Adobe, and similar solutions.</li><li>
Rapid evaluation and adoption of emerging AI technologies and capabilities.</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
10+ years of experience in digital transformation, innovation, enterprise technology, product adoption, or related fields.</li><li>
3 years of recent AI Adoption lead experience at the enterprise level.</li><li>
Deep hands-on experience with modern AI platforms and enterprise AI tools.</li><li>
Proven ability to apply AI solutions directly to business workflows and deliver measurable outcomes.</li><li>
Experience leading adoption programs, workshops, demonstrations, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.</li><li>
Strong ability to identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and drive adoption from concept through implementation.</li><li>
Demonstrated success defining metrics and measuring business impact.</li><li>
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.</li><li>
Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving environment with multiple priorities.</li><li>
Experience presenting to executive and enterprise audiences.</li><li>
Ability to work on fast moving environment.</li></ul>

Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible).
