General Summary of Position 
Provides administrative and clerical support on a patient-centered care unit or department. Facilitates communication and contributes to patient care. Greets the physician and other health care personnel on arrival to the unit and assists in expediting the processes of patient care. Acts as a receptionist for visitors and others health care personnel and serves as a central contact for telephone calls and distribution point for paperwork laboratory and test results.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Compiles and maintains unit statistics regarding admissions discharges and transfers per unit policy.</li><li>
Expedites the patient admission transfer and discharge process performing bed control functions following hospital policy procedures and guidelines.</li><li>
Greets and orients patients family and significant others to the patient care unit and the patient room as appropriate following the admission procedure. Assures readily available hospital/unit based admission packets/booklet. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.</li><li>
Maintains accurate up-to-date inventory of patient forms on the unit and assures forms are readily available for all healthcare providers. Communicates needs and as appropriate orders unit based supplies.</li><li>
Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams unit based/hospital committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts.</li><li>
Performs clerical duties to maintain the patient's medical record according to medical record policy. Assembles and copies charts and forms assuring that charts contain necessary forms. Performs data entry chart preparation chart thinning filing flagging orders and photocopying according to policy. Prepares the medical record for patient admission transfer and discharge. Assures unit-based order sets clinical pathways and care guidelines are part of the chart order as appropriate. Demonstrates proficiency with faxing scanning use of PC printer nurse-call system and telephones. Assists in care and maintenance of departmental equipment.</li><li>
Maintains inventory of necessary supplies as directed. Reports unit equipment that is malfunctioning or defective to appropriate personnel.</li><li>
Responds to questions from MD's other healthcare providers patient families and significant others in a prompt courteous positive and knowledgeable manner and refers to appropriate personnel.</li><li>
Validates diet with nurse and the catering associate. As directed attends to comfort needs of patient such as filling pitchers and obtaining extra pillows or blankets. Assists with transport of specimens equipment and supplies as appropriate. May assists with tray set ups collection and recording of intake/ output.</li><li>
Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality as directed by HIPPA regulations.</li><li>
May assist with environmental services support such as trash removal and keeping area tidy.</li></ul>
Minimal Qualifications

Parexel Early Phase Clinical Unit supports the development of innovative new medicines which are vital for public health, improving outcomes, and saving lives. The early phase and &ldquo;first in human&rdquo; trials are the first step in testing these novel treatments in humans. 
At Parexel Baltimore Unit our highly trained and skilled nurses are the front-line staff involved in administering these new compounds to our volunteer participants via multiple routes, including, but not limited to, IV, IM, SC, PO, Topical, Inhalation etc. Then monitor the volunteer participants health status around the clock as per the trial protocol to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

What you&rsquo;ll do after training is completed (including but not limited):<ul><li>
Support Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and all work processes to ensure the efficient and compliant clinical operation of the Early Phase Clinical Unit (EPCU).</li><li>
Assume responsibility for patient care and study conduct assignments.</li><li>
Ensure that all study laboratory and medical tests are completed, and that eligibility requirements specific to the assigned study are met. Assess compliance, symptoms, etc. per study protocol. Arrange for pre/post procedure laboratory work to be performed.</li><li>
Ensure that all established timelines relating to areas of responsibility and assigned projects are met.</li><li>
Participate and may direct identification and enrollment of study participants. Contributes to the development and implementation of study/research objectives.</li><li>
Assess, monitor, record, and report patient&rsquo;s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to the appropriate physician.</li><li>
Collect and prepare data. Organize and enter data into case report forms.</li><li>
Enter data into databases when required. Assist physicians in completing flow sheets in medical records and progress notes. Update and maintain the contents of the Clinical Study File.</li><li>
Perform or arrange for phlebotomy, urine collection, sample preparation, storage and shipment of samples, drug dispensing, and follows GCP quality study documentation.</li><li>
Act as participant advocate in the conduct of clinical studies.</li></ul>
Qualifications<ul><li>

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains the comfort privacy and confidentiality and dignity of each patient in the delivery of services. Performs patient observation duty including 1:1 observation and application of restraints. Prepares patients to be seen by providers. Assists providers and registered nurses in patient examinations and procedures.</li><li>
Rounds on all assigned patients based on established standards (e.g. purposeful hourly rounding). Reports actual and potential problems concerning patients/families including changes in the patient's condition to the registered nurse and other care team members as necessary. Respiratory modalities include HFNC, BiPAP, CPAP, mechanical ventilation weaning, and a wide range of inhaled medications and aerosol therapies</li><li>
Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)</li><li>
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM &ndash; 7:00 AM</li><li>
Every other weekend required; holiday coverage expected</li><li>
No on-call requirement</li><li>

Requirements</h3><ul><li>
Active CRT license</li><li>
MD state licensure required if applicable</li><li>
BLS required</li><li>
ACLS preferred</li><li>
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT in both adult critical care and NICU settings</li><li>
At least 1 prior travel assignment completed</li><li>
Proficiency with Dr&auml;ger V500/VN500 and Servo U ventilators</li><li>
Experience drawing and analyzing ABGs</li><li>
ED experience preferred</li><li>
Preferred skills include bronchoscopy, inhaled Flolan, nitric oxide (iNO), Mucomyst, Ketamine, Bicarbonate, and Theophylline</li><li>
2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration</li><li>
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
