<div>The Assistant Director for Internal Communications and Staff Engagement is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive tactical communications plan for a designated area of responsibility. Provides consultation and recommendations related to the development of communication media for major publications and/or significant initiatives and programs. Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) supports Johns Hopkins&rsquo; focus on research, teaching, and patient care and its role as a national and global leader in higher education. The Assistant Director for Internal Communications and Staff Engagement is a critical partner and project manager within DAR. Jointly reporting to Development Communications and Talent Management, the Communications Associate will support a program designed to engage and inform the DAR workforce, strengthen divisional culture, and amplify leadership messaging across the organization. 
 
Specific Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Generate and recommend original and creative approaches to communicate, market, and/or promote specific subject matter.
</li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert for multiple communications vehicles.</li><li>
Write and edit multiple and varied publications, reports, web pages, grants, executive remarks, and news releases.
</li><li>Conduct interviews, research, and information gathering.</li><li>
Manage production of materials, including selection and layout of artwork, graphics, pictures, and illustrations.
</li><li>May coordinate, direct, and review the work of communications staff, e.g., freelance writers, photographers, and production staff.
</li><li>May negotiate with vendors.</li><li>
Provide editorial oversight and review of communications vehicles for the designated area.</li><li>
Lead the day-to-day creation and management of marketing plans, media, web, and public relations strategies by working with the broader Marketing &amp; Communications department.</li><li>
Serve as the primary contact with vendor agencies.</li><li>
Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and plans including external media planning and buying efforts across digital and traditional media, marketing events, and partnership marketing opportunities.</li><li>
Lead engagement and relationship management strategies by leveraging direct marketing tools to drive results, e.g., email/Salesforce, and other CRM tools.</li><li>
In partnership with stakeholders utilize and optimize SEO/SEM, email campaigns, user experience, digital advertising, promotions, and social media, etc. to build brand/program awareness, generate leads, and maximize engagement with participants
</li><li>Measure and analyze campaigns and/or project data and make adjustments to maximize ROI.</li><li>
Develop creative briefs to ensure marketing materials and program messaging are accurate and created in a timely manner.</li><li>
Drive implementation of best practices through all paid and unpaid channels.
</li><li>Organize marketing promotional events and ensure prompt delivery of materials and merchandise.</li><li>
Ensure brand consistency across all channels, e.g. websites, email, social media, events, flyers, etc.</li><li>

In addition to the duties described above, the Assistant Director will:<ul><li>
Be tasked with project management, communications planning and measurement, and creative and technical support of internal staff and leadership events, including annual all-staff gatherings, semi-annual manager retreats, quarterly all-staff webinars, and other events as directed by leadership.</li><li>
Draft leadership message guidance, internal emails, and other communications, adapting to personal tone and style. Build multi-step internal communications plans for different audiences within and beyond DAR.</li><li>
Oversee and manage internal communications tools and platforms supporting DAR staff, including but not limited to Teams channels and DARConnect (intranet hub). Oversee information reviews and evaluate the success and utilization of platforms across DAR audiences. Build workflows that keep information up to date and engaging.</li><li>
Oversee annual calendar of staff-focused communications, including annual reminders, save-the-dates, and employee recognition.</li></ul> 
 
 
Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary

The Communications Manager for Johns Hopkins Medicine drives the development and execution of strategic public relations and media-focused communications programs that advance institutional and external objectives. In this role, you will design, implement, and monitor media strategies and PR initiatives that raise the profile of Johns Hopkins Medicine, inform and engage employees and faculty, and support key institutional goals. <div>Reporting to the Assistant Director, Resident Services, the Accountability Specialist (ACS) primary responsibilities include coordinating resident approved movement schedule with case managers, monitor resident on GPS devices assigned to Home Confinement and job site. ACS will install GPS on resident monitor resident movements while on home confinement, social pass, treatment, employment, or other authorized community activities to ensure compliance with the Bureau of Prisons Community Re-entry guidelines. Monitoring shall include unannounced visits to residents homes, pass locations and places of employment; telephone verification of residents scheduled locations; and appropriate documentation of contacts in the resident file and other tracking records. The ACS provides guidance to the facility on resident whereabouts outside the facility. ACS coordinates monitoring activities, document any violation, master tamper alarm, conduct investigation. The employee will report to the Assistant Director Resident Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>
Install GPS devices on resident and monitor residents movement, home confinement, job , treatment site, etc.</li><li>
Coordinate with case managers to and develop implementation resident schedule to ensure compliance with Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and America Corrections Association (ACA) guidelines, in home confinement, pass, employment, or other authorized community activity.
</li><li>Coordinate job-site visits with the Employment Placement Specialist, ensuring that the schedule of visits is appropriate and reasonable.
</li><li>Implement community-based monitoring based on the approved monitoring plan, and as mandated by ACA, VOACC and the funding source.
</li><li>Conduct home detention site visits according to a standard checklist, and coordinate with Control Center staff to verify each residents authorized located and schedule.
</li><li>Maintain accurate monitoring inventory of GPS devices, records site visits, home confinement, telephone contacts, GPS tracking alerts and incidents and monitoring documentation weekly and ensure they are properly filed in the Secure-Manage (SM) under each resident log</li><li>
Report any deviation from residents authorized community activities to the Program Director/designee, and complete disciplinary incident reports accordingly.
</li><li>Coordinate and conduct initial meeting with the resident and their family members to complete orientations to home plans and visits to the residents release address.</li><li>
Maintains and demonstrate working knowledge of ACA requirements, VOACC policies and procedures and operational procedures, as well as, contractual obligations established by the funding source.</li><li>
Perform functions related to the Center Disciplinary Procedures as directed.</li><li>
Drive on company business to perform residential and employment site visits and transport clients as required.</li><li>
Participate in Program Review Team Meetings weekly and attend staff meetings and other VOACC work-related meetings and functions as directed.</li><li>
Participate in the provision of pre-service and in-service training for staff as directed.</li><li>
Prepare weekly, monthly or other periodic reports as required in the performance of position duties.</li><li>
Participate in 44 hours annual training as mandated by the ACA, VOACC, and funding source, and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.</li><li>
Represent the program to the public, community agencies, and funding sources, professionally and appropriately.
