 We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a research assistant in a translational neuropathology research laboratory. The laboratory is directed by Dr. John F. Crary, MD-PhD, and focuses on the underlying neuropathology and genetics of Alzheimer's Disease and related neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Parkinson&rsquo;s disease, etc.). The laboratory uses a variety of techniques, including DNA/RNA sequencing, stem cell culture, histology and digital neuropathology, confocal microscopy, optogenetics, and biochemistry. Individuals will be trained to deploy these approaches to diagnose and study brain diseases and gain exposure to challenges associated with treatment modalities, diagnosis, and research design. This role assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments with potential opportunities to attend and present at conferences and contribute to publications. The individual will have opportunities to interface with both clinical staff and basic scientists, making the position ideal for someone who is interested in broad exposure to the challenges associated with diagnosing, treating, and studying degenerative brain diseases.

   Assists with experiments including data collection and entry, maintaining data records, and analysis
  </li>

   Performing cell culture techniques including primary fibroblast banking and maintenance of stem cell lines and organoid models in preparation for downstream experiments and screening assays

   Immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and microscopy for brain tissue and stem cell projects
  </li>
  <li>
   Performing general molecular biology and protein biochemistry techniques e.g., PCR, RT-PCR, isolation of genomic DNA and RNA from cells and brain tissue, western blotting
  </li>

   Directly supports the initiatives of the Neuropathology Brain Bank and Research CoRE
  </li>

   Reports directly to the supervising neuropathologist and works closely with staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, project coordinators, trainees and technical staff to ensure the success of projects

<div><b>Description</b><p>
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a research assistant in a translational neuropathology research laboratory. The laboratory is directed by Dr. John F. Crary, MD-PhD, and focuses on the underlying neuropathology and genetics of Alzheimer's Disease and related neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Parkinson&rsquo;s disease, etc.). The laboratory uses a variety of techniques, including DNA/RNA sequencing, stem cell culture, histology and digital neuropathology, confocal microscopy, optogenetics, and biochemistry. Individuals will be trained to deploy these approaches to diagnose and study brain diseases and gain exposure to challenges associated with treatment modalities, diagnosis, and research design. This role assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments with potential opportunities to attend and present at conferences and contribute to publications. The individual will have opportunities to interface with both clinical staff and basic scientists, making the position ideal for someone who is interested in broad exposure to the challenges associated with diagnosing, treating, and studying degenerative brain diseases.</p><b><br>

Mercy University Libraries seeks to hire a multi-year contract, full-time Reference &amp; Instruction Librarian (Assistant/Associate Professor, 12-month appointment) to help lead the development, implementation, and assessment of the libraries&rsquo; information literacy curriculum. Reporting to the Dean of Libraries, this librarian will specialize in helping new students (freshman and transfer students) transition to college by developing their information literacy skills and connecting them to library services and resources. This position will also lead the libraries&rsquo; student mentorship program and other work-based experience initiatives.</p>
<p>
The ideal candidate will be passionate about information literacy and have an interest in publishing in academic publications. The candidate will also be able to demonstrate the ability to work with and teach a diverse student population, both online and onsite. The position is based primarily at the Westchester campus library located at 555 Broadway in Dobbs, Ferry. The candidate must be able to travel between campuses and be willing to work at least one day per week at either the Bronx or Manhattan campus.</p><br>
