Job Description 
1. MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The Wet Chem Laboratory/AAS Technician will be responsible for analyzing assigned samples in the most accurate, productive and timely manner according to the relevant test method and work instructions.
2. REPORTING LINE
You will be reported to the Senior Chemist/lab supervisor
3. RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Perform all analytical functions to support laboratory activities in an enthusiastic and professional manner, in accordance with procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction.</li><li>
Perform all analyses according to documented methods and work procedures.</li><li>
Work in an organized and orderly manner to optimize laboratory performance.</li><li>
Check all laboratory equipment according to a specified procedure.</li><li>
Effectively supervise staff to achieve optimal production levels.</li><li>
Maintain a high level of laboratory maintenance.</li><li>
Responsible of instruments at the Wet Chem. Section like the AAS, ICP , UV , LECO and XRF.</li></ul>

Ensure that the required PPE is worn at all times</li><li>
Ensure that correct hygiene procedures are followed</li><li>
Ensure that a high level of housekeeping is maintained</li><li>
Report all incidents and accidents to the supervisor or management</li><li>
Ensure that SMS Q&amp;HSE procedures are implemented and followed</li><li>
Be diligent in ensuring safety while performing tasks</li></ul>
4.2 Operational<ul><li>
Actively participate in all shift activities recommended by supervisors to ensure that customer processing requirements are met</li><li>
Report all necessary maintenance work to ensure normal operations</li><li>
Maintain a clean work area and assist with scheduled cleaning and maintenance work</li><li>
Ensure that all analytical methods are followed according to specified instructions</li><li>
Report all application issues related to instruments or instrument management</li></ul>
4.3 Quality Control<ul><li>
Assist in the proper maintenance of records and control systems for all documents</li><li>
Ensure that all non-conformities are noted, repaired, or reported as required</li><li>
Update equipment/material maintenance records</li><li>
Ensure that all solutions/standards are properly labeled</li><li>
Ensure that dispensers, scales, and hot plates are checked every shift</li></ul>
4.4 Administration<ul><li>
 Keep management informed of problems within the laboratory.</li><li>
 Notify management when an item is running low on stock.</li><li>
 Participate in training as needed</li><li>
 Maintain good relationships with all clients.</li><li>
Maintain good relationships with all relevant government authorities and community.</li></ul> 
Qualifications 
5. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
5.1 Education<ul><li>
Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent</li></ul>
5.2 Experience<ul><li>
Have at least one year of experience in a similar position.</li></ul>
5.3 Skills<ul><li>
Technical knowledge</li><li>
Good communication skills</li><li>
Understanding of wet chemical analysis</li><li>
Ability to operate all equipment and instruments within the section like AAS,ICP,UV and XRF.</li></ul>
